It's ON tonight. Canada vs. Russia. A must-win game for us if we are to have a shot at the gold medal which those upstart U.S.A.-ians threaten to snatch. You guys already dominate reality TV and UFO sightings, leave our hockey alone. :pissed:
I don't know if I'll be able to stay up late enough to watch it but I'll go down fighting and/or drinking.

Go Canada! If the gold doesn't go to us, it should go to you. And since you're hosting and all (and I'm not really into hockey), I'll be happy for you if it does.

That's the spirit. :D It's 7-3 Canada right now. Yay!

Woohooo!
I'm watching speed skating right now, since that's what's on here. It's a short race, and a Canadian guy just took off and left the other three in the dust. It was exciting...usually they're packed close together.
Yesterday, some speed skater (can't remember what country) in one of the long races would have had the gold if it hadn't been for his coach yelling at him to get into the wrong lane. Gah! I felt *so* bad for both him and the coach.
It's really been an exciting Olympics. You folks know how to put on a good time!

I'm glad he's won others, at least. I hope he and the coach can make peace with each other. Also hope he's able to make the Olympics again in four years and have another chance at that race. Not sure how long their careers are...must be hell on the joints to do that.
Anyway, I'm off to bed shortly...so will have to cheer on Canada the rest of the way in my sleep! I'll try to remember to look for the outcome in the morning. Enjoy the game. :)

Did you see the spill of the one German 2-woman bobsled team? That was pretty nasty, but it looks like nobody was hurt.
And it looks like Canada took gold and silver in it, with US getting bronze.

I didn't see that. We had a good day today with 4 medals. I also haven't seen Ovechkin's hit on Jaromir Jagr yet. It gets pulled from YouTube as fast as anyone can put it up. I guess I'll have to go to the "official" site to see if I can find it.

Not my fault you picked the wrong team in 1776. I missed it, but heard Ovenchicken got hurt. Thanks, I owe you a Yuengling or 24.

Was it on their second run? There was one team before I went to bed that was really messing up on the way down, and the way they wobbled a couple of times, I was just sure they were going to wipe out. I'm pretty sure it was the German team. They made it on that run, but I remember thinking they were in trouble and shouldn't be on that track.
ETA: So who won the hockey game?

Canada won against Russia, 7-3. The final round is going to be great I think. I don't think I can bear it if we lose. I'll have to leave facebook for all the trash-talking, haha.

I believe it was the second German team, and it was on the final run. The brakewoman spilled out the back, and the sled was nearly upside down for a bit of the run, ended up on its side I think. The commentator said it was doing around 80 mph when it lost control, and the brakewoman dropped out probably around 30 or 40 mph. Luckily nobody seemed to have been hurt. As a result, the saddest part was that they were having a great run until they lost control.
I think Canada ended up taking gold and silver, and the US got bronze.

Holy hell, Uthrecht isn't even online right now. I guess there's no hope for a DTP.

You'd think she was on the other side of the world or something, eh? Crazy.
I really like hot chocolate with vodka. Lots.
