Seriously, AI has come this far? We're in a world of hurt if stuff like this is what's coming.

On Wednesday afternoon, I clicked on a picture of a woman on a website called Deepnude.com. Suddenly, her outfit disappeared, and naked breasts were on my computer screen. It was transfixing and nauseating. I felt like I had just peeped through a stranger's window, utterly violating her privacy.

And...

The website, initially reported on by Samantha Cole at Vice site Motherboard on Wednesday, began selling a $50 Windows and Linux application just a few days earlier that could take a photo of a clothed woman and, using artificial intelligence, replace it with a fairly realistic-looking naked image of her. There was a free version, too,

Fortunately, he took the site down, but that shit is out there.

Should be noted, if this works with women, it'll probably work with anyone, including minors. So, reason for concern...

Well, that is both disgusting and appalling. People are so gross.

There used to be pens with an image on the side that did the same thing.

yea, I saw one of those as a kid and was scandalized - and I remember realism was not . . . just not there. This is different.

Deep Nudes is just scratching the surface. Deep Fakes are to the point they are fooling experts. No video of anything anyone says can be trusted. No video of anything at all can be trusted.

If they hit me with one of those cameras, can they at least give me abs?

Ya know, this not having a physical existence, it's not something that should cause a lot of fear, as such. It's more, just when the social line was that society was being less awful to women around the issue of sex, we discover yet again that it's a big fat lie. I am not surprised. I've heard that lie since just after I saw that pen.

Yup.

I find myself wondering if folks have used this program on pics of guys yet. That might kill it faster than anything.
