More dead squirrels. More dead chipmunks. Bang, bang, shoot, shoot.

The thread title is a quote. Carlos Hathcock hit an NVA in the head at 2500 yds. The LT said "You missed. Look how he's twitching". Carlos said my title. Squirrels and chipmunks twitch, big-time, when I hit 'em in the head. I shot one of those bastards, then as I was getting my shoes on, ma was saying I missed, because the bastard was twitching, so I quoted Carlos, finished putting on my shoes, then picked up the dead squirrel, and cleaned the blood out of the bird feeder. Shot him exactly between the eyes.

They always twitch like that when you hit 'em in the head.

I like to watch "The Squirrel Hunter" on youtube. He's an Englishman who uses an air rifle to do pest control of invasive grey squirrels.

Yes, they do kick like hell a few seconds after being shot through the head. He links to a biologist's explanation: squirrels and other prey animals have a "run away!" command pre-loaded into their spine at all times. The only thing keeping them from constantly running away is that they are always consciously suppressing that urge. Once their brain is shattered, that conscious suppression is gone and the automatic run-like-hell command takes over. For about thirty seconds, anyway.

I also watch feral pig hunting videos, and pigs do the same thing.
