I have no clue what we'll see on Tuesday, November 3. Sometimes I feel hopeful; sometimes I think we're doomed. I'm wishing for a country with taco trucks on every corner. Mmm, tacos...

I want to be optimistic, but I don't dare after what happened last time. When Clinton lost, I was upset. If Trump wins again, it's the end of America as we know it (and I don't feel fine.)
Having voted by mail already I'm trying to quit obsessively following election coverage, but it's everywhere.

some smart people I know think we are fucked regardless of who wins, but I stick to hoping it will be less awful with Biden in the oval office.
I am avoiding "news" about the horse race election for sure.
we could use a head-in-the-sand emoji.

For what it's worth: it is said some White House staffers are job hunting.

In two weeks we'll find out if we will stop punching ourselves in the face two-and-a-half months later. I'm optimistic that we will, in fact, decide to stop punching ourselves in the face but, geez, our face is in bad shape regardless.
We're heading into a different flavor of interesting times. There is so much to be done just to right the ship that I don't expect a lot of moments of sheer political joy in the near future, even if the election goes the way I think and hope it will. But that said, I'm expecting a rollout of cabinet nominees that will warm my heart, and while I usually skip the State of the Union Address regardless of who is president, I expect to watch and drink in the nonTrumpness of Biden's first SOTUesque speech to the joint session of Congress in January or February or whenever it is.

Come on bros, see the humor in this asshat's struggling to be overcome his pending failure. They are going to mute mikes during each candidates initial response at the upcoming debate. You know the emperor will find a way to drown out Biden, wait and see, he'll bring a horn or something.

Oh, he'll at the very least be waving and hollering and trying to shout over Biden while his mike is turned off. He's already badmouthing Kristen Welker, who has the nerve to be a serious journalist while female. A woman of color, no less.

I see the humor, but right when I'm about to laugh, I think "he can still win". I hope November 4th dawns brightly.
But yeah, the upcoming debate is gonna be Crazy Town.

From CNN, this sums it up. This debate will be comedy gold.
His [trump's] ability to stand and talk about issues for 120 seconds -- or stand and listen as his opponents talk for an uninterrupted two minutes -- is basically zero.
Breath easy folks, we're going to do this.

I was so sure last time and so stunned. I'm going to buy a bottle of cheap champagne, I can tell you that. I take solace in the fact that my hard-core republican conservative to her core mother has told the Trump people on the phone just precisely why she would not vote for Trump. Starts with a Co, ends with a vid and has lots of dumbassery in the middle. She's just furious that he ignored how serious this was.

Time and time again, Trump's somehow managed to ooze out of every hole he's dug for himself, no matter how deep. As long as he's alive, there's a chance he'll win.
I'm not breathing easy unless, on January 20, I hear those sweet little words, "I, Joseph Robinett Biden, Jr., do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

No! Haven't you heard? The bungling was all Fauci's fault. At least that's the narrative Turniphead was desperately trying to spin yesterday.
I gave up on television ages ago. I don't have time to find anything worth watching, especially when there are so many streaming entertainment options. That makes it easy to ignore the bulk of the coverage. I quit answering the landline, too, so political calls are a non-issue. I limit myself to the occasional (okay, more like daily) visit to 538 to look at the statistics and feel optimism, and the rest of the time I assiduously try to ignore it.
Oddly enough, a huge chunk of my new job depends on the outcome, but I've done all I can to influence it.

Wait, you think the buffoon in chief will actually participate in the debate? No way. He will not be muzzled. Frankly, I wish they'd let him bluster away. Biden can handle it, and it hurt him in the first debate.

Less than a week to go and I'm still not breathing easy. I feel a little more freaked out every day. I'm trying to avoid the news but I still keep hearing about the shit the republicans are pulling. I hope things look more hopeful on the 4th, but I have no confidence.

Our British friends are betting record amounts of money on this election. 284 million in bets placed. They expect it to be over 400m by the time Nov 3rd rolls around. I don't know what odds they are giving, but this election is setting all kinds of records. They say the big dollar bets are on Biden.

Trump's original plans for Tuesday night involved a sold-out gala-palooza at Trump International, but now all of a sudden he's changed his plans to stay at the White House instead.

Vegas has it fairly close but then people who bet on elections are kind of stupid and that makes them Trump's people.
Joe Biden is at -185 (Bet $100 to win $54).
Trump is a +165 underdog (Bet $100 to win $65).
So fairly close but still Trump is the underdog.

I'm absolutely positive the cancellation is out of an abundance of caution. We wouldn't want to have a large gathering of people in an enclosed space for a prolonged period of time - that could endanger their health and the health of everyone they come into contact with! It really is the only sane choice.
It's truly heartwarming to see Trump being so magnanimous and considerate of others.

The truth is that trump supporters are all wearing face masks now, but it's not to prevent the spread of disease. It's to protect their identity and keep them anonymous.
