I have a friend that I game with, he lives in South Korea. I often don't really know what he is talking about because Google translate is not that accurate. Also, he is brilliant and so I think I miss stuff that he is talking about.

He asked me last week in our discord:

"The US mainland is within range, do are you trying to hand over the operational control to Korea in case of war?"

"North Korea has announced, the United States is now within range. It is also the operational right of the United States. Is the US Defense trying to hand over its own country's operations to South Korea? When there is no icbm in North Korea, it is just South Korea's operational control. But the US is now within range. Now the United States is an operational area. There are negotiations to give South Korea the operational authority of the US."

"it is no longer an overseas operation. it is no longer only South Korea's operational control. now it's the US right of operation. Or is the US thinking of pulling out?"

I googled to see if I could find anything in the news about this, but I didn't find anything.

Does anyone know what he is talking about?

Is his question about who would have operational control of the military if a military response was necessary? Or is he wondering whether the US is leaving Korea on its own?
I did find this article (https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/10/02/south-korea-us-military-withdrawal-north-korea-trump/) on the US and troops in Korea. See if he can rephrase his question.

Supposedly N Korea now has a big new ICBM (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-54500550) that can reach the US. So now its not just S Korea's problem, or something like that.

Sputnik it seems like that must be what he was talking about. My answer to him was our president is insane, I don't know what he is doing.
