Who would make your list containing at least 7 LEAST-qualified USA Chief Executives/ major party Presidential Nominees, pretty much ever? I would prefer everyone participating to try to go for ten.
And your reasons why would be interesting.
I have no agenda here on this board. This is something I started to wonder about upon a remark someone made at a social club I regularly attend.
Now, there may be some ambiguity here. Ronald Reagan had been the Governor of California. (That was clearly important, because California is and was important in many ways. Even at the time I was leading in population, as one measure, although not yet the very largest.) Some have added that he was once President of the Screen Actors Guild. It's up to the individual whether you want to count this type of top banana experience as beneficial to a later job of USA President.
And obviously the Founding Father Presidents had zero experience as any kind of U.S government official, upon the very start of the nation. Although there was the continental Congress and military leadership in some cases.
Hmm. Let's not go any further back than when Secession of Southern States was seriously discussed. That was clearly before Lincoln, but offhand I don't know if that was the Buchanan era, the Pierce era, or still further back.
