The Valles Caldera is an amazing, awesome spot. It took me two attempts to get there (got shut out by weather the first time), but it was well worth 90 minute or so drive from Santa Fe. I did the Cerro Grande trail up to the overlook on my way there, it wasn't particularly long but the altitude nearly kicked my butt.

Dammmm...Glazer maybe winning this thread with his number and breadth of snapshots, but this one is the best so far, IMHO...and there's a lot of good pics...

Glazer 4th April 2020 04:22 PM

No my phone's to cheap for that. And I don't know enough about photography for better equipment to help. Sometimes I just get lucky.

If you knew how many pics I took of that butterfly, or how long I followed him around... That's my "secret" to getting good photos- take 50, save one.

After I'd been skydiving awhile I got a helmet-cam and tried aerial photography. This is probably my best shot, and it was pure luck. That is the correct orientation; the pilot went into a dive as soon as we stepped out the door.

Yeah, I live at 5,000 feet but when I get above 8,000 feet I feel it. My brothers and I found a nice campsite on a point of land jutting into the small canyon formed by the Jemez river. There's a steep drop-off on both sides so you have to be careful if you get up at night to pee, but the view is incredible. That's where I took the fog photos. This shot is across from the point and shows the campsite & our vehicles- and my brother is the small white dot in the middle:

Luck or not that is a great composition. Very surreal with the perspective shift from the plane diving.

I honestly don't remember. Probably my brother-in-law acting goofy to make them smile.

Glazer, what/where is the display of weapons (tools?) we are looking at?

Those stone and bronze age weapons are in a customer's house up in Prescott. The owner is a retired professor.
