Cheap lunch - need answer STAT!

It's nearly 3 pm, I haven't had lunch today, need to go on the cheap, we've got all the majuh fast food dollar meals around, what should I get?

Uthrecht 17th February 2010 10:50 AM

For cheap? Go to Wendy's, get a sandwich off the $1 value meal and fries off the $1 value meal. Or some combination thereof.

Giraffe 17th February 2010 10:53 AM

I refuse to answer unless you list the options.

WednesdayAddams 17th February 2010 10:53 AM

Again? Didn't we tell you what to eat a couple of weeks ago? Damn woman, you're needy. Get a baked potato with broccoli and cheese from Wendy's.

You have a point. I think she's becoming dependent on us.

Excellent.

Had to get an oil change yesterday so I went at lunch time and walked to the nearest fast food place. It was a Wendy's. I hadn't eaten at a Wendy's in several years. They had this new blue cheese and bacon burger that looked good but it was nasty. I like Carl's and McD's so it's not like I am too good for fast food. I won't be back to a Wendy's any time soon.

Whoa, I just got a flashback to an alleged Swiss cheese and mushroom burger that I got from Burger King, like, 20 years ago. I don't even want to think about what the fast food version of bleu cheese is.

In answer to the OP, get a Big Mac wrap and post back in this thread. I don't think it's on the dollar menu but I'm somewhere between not curious enough about it to go get one myself and curious enough to read what others think about it.

Or, just get a McD's hot fudge sunday.

Auntbeast 17th February 2010 11:24 AM

I am not a fan of Subway and typically avoid eating there if at all possible.

However, their sweet onion sauce has me craving Subway. Get one for me please?

Ha, I remember those! Back when I worked at Burger King (high school), we sold like one a day. It was far and away the least popular sandwich.

Sorry - didn't have time to make a poll.

Got the cheesburger for a buck and sprang the extra 49 cents for baked potato.

Don't like chocolate, don't like ice cream (I know, Snookie thinks I'm useless, too)

Thanks everyone, crisis averted.

Hey it's nice to see it's not just me that runs their life according to the random whims of anonymous internet people. :)

Well, hello there, Sister. I'm one of those freaks that don't like chocolate either. There are very, very few of us out there.

Well, from having one, I know why.

The visit in which I got my Swiss and mushroom burger was also the first time I experienced being given an empty cup with the expectation that customers are to get their own damn sodas. It was clearly one of the big days in my life.

Don't I know it. So many times, people proudly tell me that they have a chocolate cake!!!! for dessert. Meh. (Including, sadly, my grandmother who would bake one from scratch every year for my b'day, never ever recognizing that I didn't like chocolate)

takowasakun 18th February 2010 03:25 AM

Is it too late to suggest you go to Sukiya? I've become rather partial to their Charbroiled Chicken and Egg Bowl. I promise you chocolate is quite scarce on their menu. :D

I can't stand Wendy's. I'd rather eat old McDonald's Big Macs out of the dumpster than a Wendyburger.

I love Smashburger (which has a killer blue cheese burger) but it's kinda pricey for fast food.

takowasakun 18th February 2010 04:52 AM

Best burger I've had was probably at Oatman Diner, but that's not a chain.

So I'll go with Kewpee!

"Hamburg pickle on top, makes your heart go flippity-flop!"

KewPee's was across the street from the church I went to as a kid in Flint. I rarely hear anyone talk about that chain except for those die-hards that refuse to call it Halo Burger.

takowasakun 18th February 2010 05:11 AM

I cannot drive past Lima, OH without a ceremonial stop for a burger, a malt, and a slice of pie from Kewpee.
