♫♪ The easy way is to just copy-paste. Or you can memorize the unicode value and type it with Alt +XXXX (where the Xs are the unicode value). My computer's Japanese Input Method Editor allows me to type them in using Japanese words for the equivalent symbols. おんぷ = ♪ ほし = ☆ etc.

The only unicode I remember is ALT+0176, which gives you a degree symbol. °
