No, I didn't cheat. But I do work retail, and the radio is usually set to a station that plays A LOT of 80s stuff. So things I didn't already know growing up (which was more than a fair amount) easily had the gaps filled in by the rarely rotating playlist of drudgery for the past four years of my life.

I probably could do better from the 70s as well, or even the 90s. I didn't listen to the radio much in the 80s.

"California Girls" and "Venus" were remakes, yes, but done by 80s bands*. No one's remade a popular version of "Hotel California" yet.

I got a measly 50.4, and the 80s was my decade! However, this quiz is skewed towards what was presumably popular in North America, which is not the music I was listening to (not being in North America at the time). I remember listening to re-broadcasts of Casey Kasem's "American Top 40" on the radio and laughing at the weird shit you guys listened to. :)

I only got 45.25. I lost 30 fecking percent because I'm old! Life ain't fair, I tell ya.
