Dr. Seuss Mafia -- Night Two

With sad quiet grimness they walked through the town,
the Whos down in Whoville were not beaten down;
Through facts and through rumor GiraffeWho had claimed
That Archangel should for Bill's murder be shamed.

Archangel denied it and answered with rage
But the Whos down in Whoville could not be assuaged --
"But I've killed one of you," Angel shouted with glee
"some Who will be dead by the morning, with me!"

She snarled and she snarked 'til they strung her up good,
commending each other, as any Who would;
There was great celebration through hill and through dell --
'Til Romanic Who tumbled down -- stone dead as well.

Archangel, Tweedle Beetle, Scum, has been lynched
Romanic, Who, Vanilla Town, has been slain.

Night Two begins now and will end at 4 p.m. Pacific Time on January 15th. Do not forget to send your Night Actions!

Romola 13th January 2011 03:11 PM

Well spotted, Giraffe. Sorry you went down, Romanic. Can't say the same for you, Archangel, but you make an entertaining villainous scummer.

Giraffe 13th January 2011 03:22 PM

Hmm, I wonder who killed Romanic? (Are we allowed to talk about that? If not, treat the question as idle speculation and ignore it.)

Romola 13th January 2011 03:24 PM

We're not, definitely not. It's worth noting thoughts now though for toMorrow. I often find myself coming to Night popping with ideas and suspicions and losing focus over time, so whatever you are thinking now, record it somewhere.

*that's not strategy, is it, it's just general game talk?*

Zeener Diode 13th January 2011 03:39 PM

It's a shame about Romanic, always sad to see a Townie die unnecessarily.

That's as speculative as I'll be. Now, which Who is pouring the drinks around here?

Special Ed 13th January 2011 03:51 PM

xxx xxxxx!

xxx xx xxxxx xxx xxx?

Hey, I am starting to miss Captain Pinkies. He can always be relied upon to post a drinks recipe, specially at Night time.

I've got goat milk.

At least as far as you know it's milk. Kinda thick though. And maybe a little sticky.

SisterCoyote 13th January 2011 04:10 PM

In which the mod briefly plays bartender

1 lowball glass
Ice, whole or crushed
1 shot Midori
1 shot Lime Juice
Lemon/lime soda of one's choice (I like the dryness of 7-up, but chacun a son gout)

Mix.

Drink.

Tastes like a Sour Apple Jolly Rancher, I swear.

Seems kinda... weak.

Howzabout I add a jigger of pure grain alcohol?

Romanic 13th January 2011 04:31 PM

Yay! I wanted to appear worried about keeping my vote on Archangel, to attract the bomb! That's why I talked about the possibility that some of us remove our vote. Can't wait to see if that's why they decided to kill me.

Good luck Town!

Special Ed 13th January 2011 04:33 PM

Goat Milk

1 bottle vodka
1 fifth watermelon schnapps
1 fifth Peach schnapps
1 gal Kool-Aid Watermelon-Cherry
2 liters Sprite
10 tbsp sugar

This sounds awful.

BobArrgh 13th January 2011 04:34 PM

Aw, poop, Romanic. That bites.

Zeener Diode 13th January 2011 04:37 PM

[QUOTE=Special Ed;523763]This sounds awful.[/QOUTE]

You want awful? Try a Black Pearl.

I don't know the exact measurements but the ingredients are:

Vodka
151 rum
Kahlua
Triple Sec
cola
poured over ice

Zeener Diode 13th January 2011 04:38 PM

Holy shit!

Suburban Plankton 13th January 2011 04:40 PM

Tough luck Romanic :(

Unless they did actually play right into your hands, in which case...

Good going, Romanic :)

I've got four different bottles of Single Malt Scotch if anyone's interested

mlerose 13th January 2011 09:34 PM

Last night I had a Kingston Cocktail which was superdelicious.

2 oz spiced rum (I rec. Sailor Jerry's)
1.25 oz kaluha or other coffee liqueur
juice of 1/2 lemon (is extra good with Meyer lemon)

Shaken with ice and poured in a martini glass or served over ice in a highball, it's so, so tasty.

zuma 14th January 2011 05:17 AM

Nelson, you're taking requests now? WORST. HAW HAW. EVER. You should have just ignored that

It's like Nelson is opening for Yakov Smirnov in Branson, MO now.

Zeener Diode 14th January 2011 05:24 AM

Branson's not that far from Springfield. :scitard:

BobArrgh 14th January 2011 05:37 AM

Zeener ... are you in Springfield? I'm near KC, myself.

zuma 14th January 2011 05:56 AM

I am quite confident scum will not kill me tonight, after my well-thought-out kill Giraffe campaign.

peekercpa 14th January 2011 06:12 AM

this is when you know you have a problem.

peek: sure i'll have a drink, what you got?

ed: all i have is goat's milk

peek: what's that?

peek: anything else? i mean a bud light or a glass of wine in a box sounds better than that crap.

ed: nope

peek: i'll have a double, then.

Idle Thoughts 14th January 2011 07:14 AM

I'll have a Coke.

making it marginally more horrifying.

I'm not only horrified, I'm looking at it and expecting it to come to life right here in the thread.

BobArrgh 14th January 2011 12:30 PM

Make sure you don't let any birds get into the room where they do the Spray Drying ... nobody wants the slurry with the finch on top.

Thank you, thank you ... I'll be here all Night. Let's have a big hand for our mod, SisCoyote ... and hey, you really should try the Roast Beest.

if i can make a suggestion.

i am a bit skeptical of the whoo pudding. ed brought his own special family recipe and i might say that it looks questionable at best.

Nope. The closest Springfield to me is next to Eugene (OR).

I'm just up the road in PDX.

BobArrgh 14th January 2011 05:37 PM

I have a good friend who lives in Eugene. I was just in Medford back in October for my nephew's funeral. He was a comic book colorist. A number of years ago, I went to Medford for his wedding and our family did a raft trip down the Rogue River.

Good times, good times.

More drink recipes we will not be denied
Though I'll not make ones that I've actually tried;

First take a glass, chill it, etch it, add love,
Pray that it gains all the moonbeams above
Add some hot milk, just a titch, not a bunch
Then squeeze in some leftover ketchup from lunch!

Let it ferment, for two-hundred-three days.
Call in your friends from far-off Tampa Bay.
They'll need to start punching the saxical trees
If they want to partake in your beverage sprees.

Add in some hot-sauce--too much, it'll pop!
Made from the rare quampy-galloping glop.
And you'll need some fair north-southwest Asp Ocean muck
To line the rim of your moonbeam-chilled cup

Then take peaches, and oil, and throw them away;
we won't need them for this o'ergraceful display!
Dance on the turnip beds, pour some white wine
On the graves of old famous political minds.

Then mix the skulls and the veggies in a dish
Wax it with sandpaper and it must smell like fish
Then gather the saxical sauce from before
Now we need just one ingredient more.

A rare liquid-glass mitre-stained pumpkin seed
Grown in the valleys of Wancheggaporee.
The mitre, too, you must fetch and destroy.
Any more seeds it stains will dilute your new joy.

This incredibly valuable, tastiful seed,
goes in with the saxical sauce with all speed
Then put the mix into the bowl and simply stir thrice
with a war-weaned, capital dainty jackknife.

Pour the bowl in the glass, let the sun melt moonbeams
and you'll soon see a copious volume of steam.
Serves five, but only after it thaws
and only if you drink it with a bendy straw!

Full disclosure: I edited this line (because I forgot about the rule) to put the word "simply" in the line so it would scan better.

BobArrgh 14th January 2011 06:41 PM

I love it! Unfortunately, I don't know anyone from Tampa Bay.

Zeener Diode 15th January 2011 09:35 AM

That was great HB!
