Giraffe, remember when you Pit the SDMB Pit? Well, the GB Pit is worse. . . MUCH worse. And why is it worse?

Because while you can say cunt in the GB Pit (big whoop), you have to be "nice" about it.

Here in one of the latest Pit threads, teela brown complained about her stay in a 4 star hotel. Charles D. Allen points out that she earlier complained about a $50K credit card debt, so it seemed inconsistent to go to a 4 star hotel, much less complain about it. You go on to call him a "judgmental prick" for pointing out the inconsistency.

Now I'm sure you'll be jumping up and down saying that you were just a regular poster airing your little opinion when you posted that. But here's the thing. If any other poster besides you, the mods and a few of your favorites did that, that person would be Boxed for starting a hijack.

At the very least, they would have had their derail copied into another thread and titled something like "Giraffe starts a fight (derail)" with the subtitle "Giraffe is a weasel"

But that didn't happen. You were allowed to slug away at Charles D. Allen as long as you wanted because you're an Admin. So you get to mod in "niceness" by going after a poster long after anyone else would have been Boxed.

At least at the SDMB Pit, people get to point out inconsistencies if they want and the mods and posters are subject to the same rules.

That's just one of the many reasons why the GB Pit sucks. I won't even go into how lame it is to even allow a Pit thread that's about complaining about noise at a hotel. MPSIMS material indeed.

Do you have too much time on your hands or are you truly a troll? All that happened (and it was a tempest in a teapot) 3 days ago. You're late with the "outrage" and the query.

I'm sorry that your perception of the moderation here -- it's so far from my own that I'm not sure how to argue the hypothetical. Obviously, my saying "no, we wouldn't have Boxed anyone for a post like that" won't mean much to you, given your opinion of our capriciousness. So I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
