Last Stand Mafia - Night 8

The eighth day marked something new for the soldiers. The sound of engines near the exterior patrol lines. The enemy had finally arrived. With only 5 left alive, their only hope for survival was the bases automated defenses. An effective saboteur could neutralize these easily. They turned quickly on Merestil Haye, a lowly private. How could it be him? He barely has permission to shit behind a closed door. It's all or nothing, tonight would decide their fate. Either the enemy would be repelled, or they'd all wake up with bayonets to their throats.

Merestil Haye, aka Private is dead, he had no powers and was the last saboteur. (Scum)

Congratulations, Town! You Win!

Giraffe 20th November 2012 07:52 PM

Woo hoo, Town prevails! :woop:

(Though I can't help but notice the scum lynch rate went WAY up after I died. :sciencefail:)

Flying Squid with Goggles 20th November 2012 08:48 PM

Well done, Townies. That was a bold play at the end, MHaye... good play.

guiri 20th November 2012 10:07 PM

Yay! Well done Town!

Red, thanks for hosting the game. Sorry for all my nit-picking questions.

MHaye, thanks for not killing me early in the game, it was fun to live past N3!

Chucara 20th November 2012 10:16 PM

Thanks for the game everyone. If nothing else, this game has taught me that lynch the lurker is a valid strategy.

Giraffe 20th November 2012 10:18 PM

Red, any chance of posting links to the scum board? I'd love to read their discussion from the early Days to see what they were thinking.

Edit: Or I could just read the OP. :smack:

Can I do a "me too" on this statement - or is that a scum-tell ;)

Thanks for the game Red :)

Well played, Scum. I love when a game comes down to the wire.

Who was the recruitable?
Why didn't giraffe's investigations work?

Short answer - Lightfoot, and because some roles were "strong" and some were "weak".

Lightfoot was recruitable by scum.

Giraffe/Peeker/FlyingSquid - had a roughly 50% shot at the beginning of the game for successful investigation, but the results were predetermined. That number changed based who was alive at any given time. This was put in because having two full cops alive could create a large enough confirmed pool to break the game. Note also, that scum was 75% weak at the start of the game, so the cops could find most of them.

Great game, Red. Well-balanced, but different enough that you had to think through the new logic. (Which I did really well, as you can see.) I thought the missions added a really interesting element.

Thanks for all your work to help people have fun.
