A Little Browser Help
I have two browsers on my desktop, IE and Firefox. I prefer Firefox, but lately things like slide presentations are not working properly. In a typical multi-slide show, the picture will change maybe three times, but the caption under it stays the same, describing what was shown on the first slide. After three image changes, the window goes black, and the < or > arrows quit working. Things appear to be working properly with IE. What's wrong, and how do I fix it. Keep in mind that telling me to switch to Chrome will not be helpful.

Make sure you're updated to the latest version of FF (37.01 I think) because they get real cute about making you upgrade by causing shit to not work. Check your browser plugins to make sure they're current (on a slideshow Flash being out of date is the most likely culprit) and if you're all up to date, make sure you don't have something like NoScript or a flash blocker active as well.

Switch to Chrome. Who ever said I was helpful?

Hi, Harry! where have you been? how have you been?

Thanks, Smarty, I'll check those things. Glazer, your help is oftentimes immeasurable, as it should be. Jackie, I've been around, just not posting much any more. I'm fine, mostly...staying busy with projects.

The Firefox update thingie is under Help>About Firefox>Update. And the plugin update thingie is under Tools>Add Ons>gear symbol at top center>Check For Updates. This helpful and intuitive, to a neckbearding code monkey.

Apparently, all this advice has scared Firefox into minding its manners. After giving me grief for three or four days, it has corrected itself. Probably just taking a few days off while it thinks of some other way to fuck with me.
