Did anyone else here watch the Tragically Hip final concert tonight?

I just finished watching it. I was never a huge die-hard fan of theirs, but they've always been on my radar. Even now, I can be listening to them, and a song of theirs will come on, that I'd totally forgotten even existed, but that I absolutely love. Tonight, it wasn't a song they performed, but the song CBC played over the ending credits; Long Time Running.

By the end, some dust had found its way into the room. It must have been dust. Or pollen. Maybe onions.

It was definitely an emotional show.

I had to work but not surprised at all the wonderful responses to it I'm seeing online. I wasn't a die hard fan but I did keep listening and found the later albums just as good as the first ones. Sad to see them have to go out like this but what an incredible exit it is.

I was lucky enough to get tickets to the concert in Hamilton last week. Like you, I was never a die hard fan, but I can't deny they were part of the soundtrack to my youth as a Canadian growing up in the late 80s/early 90s. It feels really fucking weird knowing that's it, that they'll never perform again. I watched tonight's concert in a park with 1000 other people and with every song they sang, it meant they were getting closer to the end. It was a hard pill to swallow. But like you, it was "Long Time Running" that finally broke me. It was a beautiful heartbreaking concert.
