I like that Shags keeps bringing up how boring he is as a reason he's obviously telling the truth. "I'm not creative/imaginative enough to make stuff up"... yeah, dude, we know you aren't creative. His stories are boring as shit and they're all very slight variations on the same fucking thing. He's by far the most boring, tedious person in his thread, which should have died weeks ago.

That's why I find it so fascinating, really. It's boring, his beliefs on what is exciting are boring, his storytelling is boring; yet the thread won't die. I mean, seriously, his idea of 'exciting date', because he won't do anything 'boring', is: go-karts, 'Ride the Ducks!', a casino, and several other rather mundane things. I do find it interesting that he goes on about how he has to really talk to the other person because that's important and no fooling around for at least 3 dates, yet all his ideas for dates are places where one on one conversation can't really happen. There is probably some base kernel of truth to everything he says, but it's so overly fertilized that the roots rot and all we're left with is a guy so out of touch he could sue Hall & Oates for writing about him.

On top of all of that is the constantly contradictory narrative of what he's looking for "I'm tired of constantly seeing so many 10s, I just want to have a girlfriend" "I don't want a relationship!", peppered with "gosh I know I should just put XYZ on the bench but I just can't help but make bad choices! gee shucks!" "I don't even know why I put XYZ on the bench to begin with!"

What amazes me about the Shags pit thread is that he keeps saying that our minds will be totally blown when we find out that all his stories are true. How, exactly, is that supposed to happen?
