SmartAleq 30th November 2018 02:35 PM

I don't actually hate the title, good going!

Pure 30th November 2018 02:35 PM

Now I really feel like my days as Fenris are over...

Argument Clinic 30th November 2018 02:56 PM

I think we missed this piece of genius from Acey: I recall reading that actors in England don't ride horses. The Doctor Who Confidential episode showed a fake rig the actor used to pretend he was riding. It's considered stunt work. Here in the US I'm pretty sure actors do much of the riding. Think of Bonanza and Big Valley. Stunt men handle the full gallops.

Mr. Plumbean 30th November 2018 03:02 PM

There really is no valve between the SOC and the keyboard with that guy.

Mr. Plumbean 30th November 2018 03:08 PM

Oh stop title shaming!

Even worse is the Arkansas-Redneck-shaming. He can't help that he lives in Little Rock. How would you feel if you lived there, and we reamed you for it, eh?

C2H5OH 30th November 2018 03:32 PM

I went to post a reply in the last thread. You Fenrised it. I'll just post the link I was going to do...

or maybe not. I keep fucking it up Fenrising it.

Guinastasia 30th November 2018 03:47 PM

Where does he come UP with this nonsense? Seriously? Horseback riding in England is a huge thing -- hell, the QUEEN is a serious rider, and she's 92 fucking years old.

Rectal Derivation. He finds it the same place he finds his head. Where else would you expect?

Slate 30th November 2018 03:54 PM

It would be funnier without the hyphen. Durpier too.

I dunno. Really it's amazing. And he's totally serious.

He obviously saw something, probably a stunt profiling, only partly understood it with his dim brain.

And out it pops in those short, barely linked, declarative sentences.

That's genuine grade A dimwit there.

Hmmm...

NoClueBoy 30th November 2018 07:13 PM

As I was reading the Acey self ck out lane thread, I was about to post that you scan your alcohol last, DUH! but then I saw it was said a couple of times already. Sad reality is, I see a lot of Acey caliber people every time I go somewhere. Anywhere.

That hurt my feelings. I'm emotionally damaged now and all tore up inside. In addition to hearing from my lawyers over this matter, you're being put in a safe space for the next 24 hours.

:(

:sciencefail:

Why do you have to scan booze last?

Jaglavak 30th November 2018 10:23 PM

Because booze summons the clerk to make sure you're 21.

kayaker 1st December 2018 02:24 AM

Pennsylvania just attempted to join whatever century it is WRT alcohol by allowing beer sales in certain grocery/convenience stores. But the buyer has to have their driver's license scanned at a designated cash register.

I'm 60. It's easier for me to buy heroin.

Thanks. Of course. That makes perfect sense. I’ve never much cared for alcohol in any form and rarely purchase it. So many things like this escape me.

Fenris boxing bangle bracelet with an Ivory tower bell cluster. Very rare indeed.

ETA. That's as rare as earning a "black N" at the Naval Academy. Should be worn with pride.

Acey the gift that keeps on giving, he comes back for another round. Penfeather has a great response

In fact, let me see if I can simulate the cognitive processes. You saw a stunt performer stand in for a British actor who wasn't comfortable riding a horse on a science fiction show that doesn't usually feature horse riding, and concluded from that that British actors didn't ride horses whereas American ones do because Bonanza. Astounding.

Man, there sure are a lot of Dopers carrying emotional scars because their parents did the whole Santa Claus thing. Thread

Somehow it's not at all surprising that Johnny Foreskin thinks telling children that Santa brings their presents is the moral equivalent of beating them.

Wouldn't you like to send him a needle, thread, and a foreskin in a beautifully wrapped little box for Christmas?

Also, a supply of immune suppressant drugs. Otherwise, his body will reject the transplant. :wanker:

My foreskin jar is getting awfully full. Maybe I could make him one of those wallets that turns into a briefcase when you rub it.

Acey once claimed that he saw the Mythbusters make a bullet stop in midair and drop to the ground. I thought he might be confusing Mythbusters with Road Runner cartoons, but no, he included a link to a video clip.

This show was famous for making science-y things clear and easy to understand, but it was still too much for dim-bulb Acey to grasp.

Mr. Plumbean 2nd December 2018 04:33 PM

You was in the box? I missed something. What did you do this time?

NM it was capricious and arbitrary as promised in the promos. Good job Fenris.
