And to continue a thought from the previous thread, I personally prefer to differentiate mental illness as more something that's innate, like bipolar or schizophrenia from disorders brought on by trauma, such as PTSD and disassociation. The treatment approach is different so it makes sense (at least in my disordered mind lol) to make a distinction. Personality disorders are a whole 'nother thing entirely since there's basically no real treatment aside from making adjustments iff the person who has them finds them problematical. Anyway, my tuppence. :shrug:

I'm a big fan of process. Set the rules, establish process, and be consistent. Morgenstern did the exact same thing. The only reason I can see the reaction being different is because people hate Shodan. That's fucked.

I can keep my shit together pretty easily actually. I compartmentalize really well. But if we're abandoning consistency and process, well Im not a fan of a bunch of people too, but I can normally set that aside. There's already a set of folks I don't respond to and that's fine. But if this is the direction we're going, well that's going to be interesting.

Any mod flameout is going to be entertaining. But this one has great potential.

We already prohibit hate speech, other slurs, attacking their children, and doxxing people from the pit, so this has never been about this post being “too mean”, as if that’s all that was going on. Plus, pitting moderators for their actions is not allowed, so it’s not like the pit was completely without boundaries until this came up.

Tormenting people about their mental and physical health should be a line we don’t want folks to cross. This is a better fight to have than the stupid list of naughty words.

I don't keep a formal list and, even if I did, some people may have verified with other Modes. bone1 registered in the first month of the boards existence and we didn't do any double checking back then. I have no reason to suspect that he isn't Bone over there.
