It was a crisp autumn night in Dunwich, MA. The townsfolk had gathered at the local parish for for a meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming halloween and harvest dance. The sign-in sheet indicated that:

The wind began to howl, and rotten branches of an old oak tree banged against the roof of the weathered chapel. With a crack, the lights flickered and then went out. Thus began the first night of the rest of their very short lives.

For as famous [Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye 007, Killer Instinct, Battletoads, Wizards and Warriors] and infamous [Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Beetlejuice, Silent Service] as video game company Rare [Rareware] was, I claim that the music they made was a thousand times better, and yes, they should have been in the record industry, exclusively.

The likelihood of all of us specifically claiming so as to foil Pleo's plan is as close to zero as makes no difference. The futility of herding cats applies.

The other players who may or may not claim. Who is the you that speaks of the you and the they?

I am not so sure about that.

Death doesn’t reveal anything, but dead players have a vote and can still provide information. That radically changes the decision between claiming and not claiming.

I don’t expect everyone to claim while alive, so they can claim when dead. Let’s speed up that process.

I claim I am not rich. I claim I am not poor. I have a wife, a dog and a house. And I claim that I want no more.

What's the town motivation in wanting everyone dead?

Town needs information to win, scum want to stop town from getting information. Players who give specific information are more likely to be town, because they are actually helping town. Players who don't want to give specific information are more likely to be scum, because they are actually helping scum.

A player can be coy if they want, but in this game, where there are no death reveals, all they are doing is delaying town from getting information. We won't learn who's scum by executing anyone. We have to figure out who's scum by putting together our puzzle pieces--which we only discover when players make specific claims.

For those opposed to making specific claims, they need to describe exactly how they think town is going to win this game by players not making specific claims.

Claiming on day 1 is your thing. It's not ours.

More importantly, it's not this game's thing, either.

Play this game. Not yours.

And this is NAI. Just the same as all claims ate bound to be also.

I’m not opposed to making specific claims, but each player can decide when the time is right.

guiri, my point is that if some players decide "I'll make a specific claim after I'm dead", it's better for us to make it so.

Suffice to say, both this, and your other demand that we claim on your speed and terms, both amount to the same fishing expedition.

I think anybody and everybody should be discussing how we can win the game rather than leaving it to luck.

Meeko, of course I'm fishing! The only information we get this game is from what players claim. The regular default plan of "execute players we think are scum and see what is revealed" is not possible this game. I've provided an alternative. If you're unhappy with my plan, give the other players a better one.

For the second half... Would you settle for an Unvote instead?

There are so many roles. Everyone is free to do as they see fit but some roles do lend themselves to claiming early while others don't.

I guess Gossip and Innkeepeer could claim the role D1, and then use their info to confirm/disprove one of the three players' claims, they are effectively vanilla after D1 besides this info, and can use the info even when dead. For the Gossip, sharing that 1 of those roles are in play is strongly pro-town.
Private Eye and Janitor. similar, good to know one, and how many scum roles are n the game.
Therapist too.
Seer and Mortician should hold their claim, unless there's evidence of a Priest.
Priest and Veteran should not claim.
Harbinger, Politician, Servant no pressing need to claim.
Vigilante effectively claims when using power.
Patsy cannot claim... unless the Gossip helps them deduce their role, or they do it themselves based on their false role info
White Rose should claim, or at least when there's a whiff of yeet pressure.
And I think best practice is for any miller to claim asap, but don't remember if it's auto-vig, or if there is some other strategy to differentiate a true miller from a false-claiming scum.
Clearly the cult leader and publicist should claim asap N0. The Acolyte, Spy and Financier should wait till after EoD D1.

Donkey Kong Country 2 was my jam growing up… finally beat the entire thing too after several months (when I was 12-ish)

I don't see any form of a denial here, that the music was in truth, marginally to just slightly more than marginally, better than the gameplay. better than the gameplay.

I had Goldeneye on the living room tv, would do that until I had to run out to the school bus.
