How many dumps a day?

What with the body hair threads, and the pee threads, it seemed all we were lacking was a dump thread. So here I am to fill the gap.

How many dumps per day? Per night? Other random details, such as size, shape, texture, length of time in the making, etc., will all be welcome.

Jeff 28th January 2010 06:58 PM

You've sullied our lovely board with your crassness. For shame.

Chacoguy 28th January 2010 07:03 PM

You mean, in a toilet?

Or are we counting "Uh-Oh's"

Since the OP did not specify, we are open to all events—purposeful or accidental. In a stall, in the loo, or in the great outdoors. In your cube, when you were illegally perusing your Facebook page. Anywhere at all.

So, to be clear, this would include 'MAH PANTS'. Correct?

Anacanapuna 28th January 2010 08:24 PM

As often as I need, and I just don't give it any more thought than that.

I believe that would come under the category of "uh-ohs," yes.

Sleel 28th January 2010 10:11 PM

Usually one, about 20 minutes after my morning coffee. I think it's the caffeine and getting food in my belly that gets things moving. If not then, then usually a couple of hours later. I might go again in the afternoon if things are really moving along, or if it's been a while since my last one. Like if I didn't go the day before.

It's rare for me to not take a dump at least every other day. I can't remember the last time I went 3 days or more without crapping.

My wife, on the other hand, goes only a couple of times a week and she said it looks like rabbit crap; hard little balls. We eat the same stuff at least 2 meals a day, she eats only a bit less volume than me, and she's only about 2/3 my size. I have no idea where in the hell she keeps all of it. I'd blow up like a balloon if I didn't shit for 4 or 5 days in a row.

Victor Frankenstein 28th January 2010 10:27 PM

37-38 easy.

Lo-Slung Denim 29th January 2010 01:26 AM

I feel funny if I don't go every day.

I prefer it to be in the morning. I cannot dump at work. Oh, I used to, all the time. When I was paid hourly, I would calculate how much I earnt for each plop. But now, the toilets are too close to other people and I must show self-restraint!

Once or twice a day: first thing in the morning and sometimes in late afternoon. The deed takes less than a minute. Shape and texture? Don't know...they seem normal enough as they exit, but break up rapidly once they're in the water. It usually smells like garlic. :D

severe delays 29th January 2010 04:27 AM

Well I just increased the amount of fibre in my diet so....

RedRosesForMe 29th January 2010 05:30 AM

You both probably need to eat more fiber, Sleel. You really should poo more than once a day.

I crap at least once a day, most often twice, and occasionally 3 or more times if I am either ill, hungover, or OD'ed on fiber. ETA: And I've discussed elsewhere, my poop is often shaped like a letter of the alphabet, and sometimes so large I just have to show someone (my ex-boyfriend thought it was funny, but BFF thinks it's gross and refuses to look). Like a foot long for a single turd, but all told (in one memorable poop) there were 2 more turds for a combined total of 2 feet of poop evacuated in that bowel movement.

I eat a lot of fiber.

SoylentPopTart 29th January 2010 05:47 AM

Hold on.....

One today.

Borborygmi 29th January 2010 05:53 AM

I think I've mentioned this here before.

I'm the type of person that will avoid taking medicine if at all possible, outside of the occasional cough drop or aspirin. But several years ago, I had a bad case of diarrhea. Bad enough that I broke down and took some over-the-counter medication to try to stop it. This was in 2004 or 2005, and the medication was Imodium AD.

I haven't pooped since. Powerful stuff, Imodium AD.

Rock 29th January 2010 05:57 AM

The great majority of the time, it's once a day, usually within 15-30 minutes of waking up.

severe delays 29th January 2010 06:10 AM

One so far but I've only eaten once.

RedRosesForMe 29th January 2010 06:18 AM

I have pooped twice so far today.

Islander 29th January 2010 07:24 AM

I have three meals a day, so the train comes into the station three times a day. Promptly drops off freight and moves on.

Ramsey 29th January 2010 07:27 AM

Once immediately when I get up - I mean immediately, too, not in a minute or after I let the dogs out. At least once again later in the day and most often a couple - three times in between. Thanks for asking! :p

Muskrat Love 29th January 2010 07:41 AM

One to three times a day, usually two. Almost always once in the morning, then usually once again later in the morning, and sometimes once before bed. When I had cryptosporidiosis, though, I was doing it about 16 times a day.

teela brown 29th January 2010 08:33 AM

Usually once a day, about twenty minutes after my first cup of coffee. Occasionally I miss a day, and the next day I poop two or three times to make up for it.

I hate to poop at work. If I must go, I go to another floor in our building which has a seldom-used bathroom.

What? That is a rare occurence for me. It is more often several days between.

Once every two days is the norm for me.

I've lost count. :sciencefail:

hroark2112 29th January 2010 10:20 AM

Once a day, when I get home. Never anywhere else, always at home. My bowels won't move on any other throne, which makes it uncomfortable if I go away for a weekend!! If I go away for a few days, nothing happens, and my body doesn't even tell me I need to go. Then when I'm driving home, the system springs back to life right around the NC border....which means 90 minutes of getting more & more uncomfortable, until I run into the house and execute "The Move" onto the throne.

(If you don't know what "The Move" is, it's when you simultaneously undo your pants, lower them to your knees, turn around and sit on the throne. When executed properly, the action begins when your derriere hits the cold seat. If you fuck it up, it can be messy!!)

Kismet68 29th January 2010 10:29 AM

I'll go anywhere between 1-3 times in a day. If I haven't gone in a while after waking up, a nice walk or yoga will usually get things going. I generally have no hang-ups about where I go in regards to socially acceptable pooping locations although I try not to make too much gassy noise if someone is likely to hear it.

You must re-tell the one about that time in the Navy, and please include the words "poopy suit". :D

That is an awesome poo story!!

RedRosesForMe 29th January 2010 03:41 PM

Yeah, like Islander said, some of ya'll need more fiber.

I think I pooped 3 times today, but it might be 4. But that's only because I've been a very very good girl about eating my fruits and vegetables the past couple of days.

jali 29th January 2010 04:05 PM

I just finished a poo marathon. I was afraid to leave the office - I had to rig protection before I was able to get on the train.

Immodium AD? My stomach laughed and continued the pain and the poo.

I think I lost a couple of pounds.

I'm back to normal now. I usually go 3 times per day.

Zaffri Pieleg 29th January 2010 04:11 PM

6-ish times a day for me. Going to the loo is comforting for me... lately it's the only place where I know exactly what is expected of me.

I think there was an OP stored in your bowels, waiting to get out.

Nope, I get plenty of fiber, I exercise, I drink plenty of water, and I eat quite healthily. I have salads and/or vegetables and fruit with nearly every meal.

One or two times a day is normal for me. I could be eating nothing but fiber cereal and Metamucil, and drinking a gallon of water a day, and believe me, I would not be shitting 3 times a day. That may be normal for you, but if I were going 3 or 4 times a day, it would be because I had diarrhea.

HongKongFooey 29th January 2010 04:53 PM

Thanks to the wonders of modern technology I can make a deposit to the local sewerage commission as I type this. What an age we live in. :wow:

Oh I totally misunderstood- I thought you pooped every 1 or 2 days. But your wife, with the pooping once a week thing, that ain't healthy.

Higgs Boson 29th January 2010 05:01 PM

According the Mayo Clinic (bolding mine):

Quote:

There's no generally accepted clinical definition for frequent bowel movements. Bowel habits vary widely among healthy people. Population studies indicate that most people have more than three bowel movements a week. Generally speaking, however, normal is what's normal for you.

Frequency of bowel movements also varies for individuals over time. You could have one bowel movement a day for years, and then begin to have two or three for no obvious reason. If your bowel movements increase in frequency but not in any other way — no loose, watery stools and abdominal cramping (diarrhea) or bloody stool — the change is probably not a sign of illness.
As for me - once a day, occasionally twice.

1-2 times a day, but I can't remember when I had a nice firm one.

"I'm gonna go take me a long, greasy shit."

"Thanks for sharing."

May I point out that "normal" is not necessarily healthy.

The longer it's housed, the more time it has to do mischief. It's healthier to keep things moving briskly along.

I'm just sayin'...but I'm also a colon cancer survivor.
