I think he's ill, possibly very ill. With the way the DPRK works, a coup is extremely difficult (there are great rewards for those who turn in possible dissidents, and entire families and extended families are punished for the actions of a single individual). If a coup was going to happen, Jong-Un would have to be so extremely unpopular that a large enough group would risk it. And there would have to be some other charismatic leader to fill the gap since the whole country runs on unleaded cult fuel. I just don't see it happening.
