By my count, we have seven claimed Rips:
guiri, gnarlycharlie, Giraffe, Chaos, Colby11, Dizzymrslizzy, Mahaloth
On N1, we had the following Rip-Rip investigations:
Giraffe --> guiri, no result
Dizzy --> gnarly, no result
guiri --> Dizzy, no result
gnarly --> Chaos, no result
Colby + Chaos --> Giraffe, no result possible (if true)
On N2, we had the following Rip-Rip investigations:
Guiri --> Gnarly, no result
Gnarly --> Mahaloth, no result
Mahaloth --> Giraffe, no result
Giraffe --> Chaos, no result
Chaos --> Dizzymrslizzy, no result
Dizzymrslizzy --> Colby11, no result
Colby11 --> Guiri, no result
If Rip has three paired names, it seems highly unlikely that we wouldn't have a successful investigation yet. This makes me think we either have fewer name pairs than that and/or some scum are hanging out in our midst, borking up our odds.
The three claimed Rips I'm most dubious of are Chaos, Colby11 and Mahaloth. Their crumbs came late enough that they could have figured out the name from the previous clues, and they have generally been hanging back.
Colby is by far the most suspicious to me. Looking back at Day 2, Colby11 waited until Chaos had already produced a null investigation result on me before coyly claiming just to have no result, before eventually saying he also investigated me. Looking at Night 1, there were multiple posts discussing who was investigating me, it's hard to see how he could have been paying any attention at all and missed that.
I think Colby's plan was to give as little investigation information as possible to avoid painting himself into a corner, name-wise, but if pressed just jump onto a null investigation and say he got confused. Had he claimed a result on someone no one had given results for, he risked being caught in a lie should someone else have investigated them and gotten a Town result.
Everything about his game so far smacks of scum trying not to get busted. Even his protest at getting votes toDay stinks. I think a Town player would expect votes based on everything that's gone down so far.
