What was the King Kong knock off that had a not-as-big-but-still-big ape named Guargantua or soemthing? It was on TV and for the weeks leading up to this "very special broadcast" you could get the red/blue 3D glasses at the corner store.

E.T. The Extra Terrestrial would probably have a more immersive feel to it.

I was almost considering 2001: A Space Odessy, but to be honest ,with the complex story and the painterly approach to framing, I don't think 3D wuld actually add anything to the experience of the movie.

Oh, but Blad Runner woudl look awesome, I bet!

And why is it that when I think of all the really stunning visual movies, most of them are very dark? (Like night time dark, not Batman dark.)
