I'm sorry, but I'm past the point where I'll feel sympathy for anyone who identifies as a "Rightie."
A few decades ago, I was a centrist who supported many "Righty" ideas. But that was then and now is now. The American political divide has little to do with Left vs Right anymore. It's Good vs Evil, or Sane vs Insane. If you want to vote with the Good/Sane alliance, while trying to push the Democrats away from leftism, that's fine: Join with me! But if you self-identify as a "Rightie" you are part of the problem.
Oh, BTW: Many or most of the inane restrictions on programs like SNAP are
NOT due to over-zealous leftists, but rather due to deliberate sabotage by the GOP.
And stupid government policies are the rage all over the world. I'm a retiree living in Thailand and have just learned that, due to a recent rule change, whenever I spend a night in a hotel here, and then return home I am required to immediately provide another change-of-address to Immigration ("Hi! I'm back home again!") or my wife will face a fine (and I may face deportation).
