Sounds like a great day, Wolf!

Marlo Update!

Marlo and Twig had a long nose sniff that didn't involve hissing! Twig's so sweet and gentle, but she has no concept of personal space and kept running right up to Marlo who would hiss. She wasn't afraid, but more like, "Geez! Get out of my face!" Twig would then look so sad. But today, Twig went up to Marlo slowly and voila, no hissing. Then they hung out on the floor about two feet away from each other.

Marlo's settling down. She's also getting stronger and isn't so rickety. I can brush and pet her and get a little resistance. I tipped her over a few times last week! She'd been stuck in that kennel for about three weeks and had no muscles. I still wish she'd eat more*, however, either I'm getting used to all the bones or she's gained a little weight. I don't want her to gain a lot since she has arthritis, but at least enough to fill in a little between her ribs. Her fur is looking much better, too. She gets a "bath" with kitty wipes every day and gets brushed several times, as well. She loves them both. She had so much fur coming out the first few days. It's like she completely gave up at the shelter.

Overall, we've made a ton of progress since she came here nine days ago. She's certainly brightened my life. She's sassy and funny. She even plays with the laser toy.

I also got roped into doing some scheduling work at the shelter. I get trained on it next Saturday since my "boss" is on vacation until then. She kept dropping hints so I finally said, "Oh, all right!!" LOL. I guess I've made a decent impression.

* I'm also not thrilled with WHAT she's eating. She'll eat the wet food for kidney kitties at night, about a third of can, but the only thing she'll eat during the day is Temptations treats (aka junk food). Sigh. That she eats at all is the most important thing, but I sure wish it were something a little more healthy. I've tried mixing them with healthier foods, but she picks them out. Oh, well, she's sure happy about them. Maybe they'll take a little time off her kidneys, but QOL is important, too!
