Happy Saturday, all.
This afternoon, Mr. Duck and I will be attending an annual Christmas in July event hosted by a friend. There's going to be a gift exchange, and we're bringing probably the most boring two gifts--a fire extinguisher and a carbon monoxide detector. (Oh, a side story. When we were camping recently in our little travel trailer, we managed to set off the smoke detector just by making coffee in the morning...at 6:30 before any of the campers around us were awake. Nobody stirred or yelled, but Gah!)
My food contribution will consist of 64 homemade sausage rolls and a giant salad. I tried yesterday to buy a big container for the salad, and couldn't find one (?), so I've decided to use one of the huge Ziplock bags I have on hand for non-food items. It's a stack-and-fill design. When it's carefully layered with different coloured lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers, yellow peppers, mushrooms, green onions, and radishes, I predict that it will either look amazing or horrible. I'll report back!
