Jesus, Smartie! That all sounds horrible! I'm glad your honorary niece will be okay and I hope that you're feeling better soonest! I hate being sick too.

Took Polar to the vet yesterday for what was a very expensive visit. He had x-rays and blood work done along with an exam. I am waiting on the labs. I guess his knees are shot; there is little to no cartilage at the joints, which explains a good bit. They sent him home with tramadol and an appetite stimulant. I am guessing the exam was painful for Polar because they called yesterday and asked if they could lightly sedate him and of course I agreed to that. I don't want him in pain. However, he seems worse off now than he has been. In the wee hours of the morning, he was crying because he couldn't seem to get off the couch, so my husband helped him. This morning at 4:30 he was still outside. I broke up a cheese stick to get him to eat because he didn't eat yesterday and he didn't eat it. Next, I gave him the appetite stimulant and the tramadol and I'm waiting for that to kick in. He came in momentarily but was acting skittish around me, which he NEVER does. I am hoping the pain he's experiencing subsides and that today is just residual stuff from what he went through yesterday.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of doping him up on tramadol all the time. Time to look into CBDs for him, I think.

Back to work today, but I only have four days to work and then I'm FREE for two weeks. At this moment I've decided what I get done is what I get done, and not to sweat the small stuff. LOL! We'll see how I feel at the end of today. I know I can't cover every contingency, but I really don't want to be working during my vacation.
