To take your theory of them being scum A/scum B a bit further, it is my belief that if they are both lying, there will be zero night kills this night. The real town doctor will protect you because they know Guiri is lying. The real vig will shoot Pizza because they know Pizza is lying. Each scum team will shoot the other claim while doctoring their own. No kills will go through.
This is why I believe it's unlikely to be a lie. They'd have signed their own death for no gain midway through day 1.

Either that, or they whyfoam it up and kill some other people, likely strong PR suspects.
Which would still make it blindingly obvious, mind you – the only reason why neither of the guiri/pizza pair would die N1 is if they were lying.
Which reminds me:
If there is a real Vigilante out there that is not Pizza, and Pizza does not die after you shoot him, you need to claim that on D2. That gives us a 1v1 trade, which always favors town.
Although that is looking like a pretty slim chance now. Even though its possible they both stumbled into it, it would require both teams to have basically the same tactic to disperse the heat on them. Too much alignment.
