Apparently I can't read or something. I did not mean to neglect either Smartie or Helena.
Plumbing ills (since my pipes burst last winter and it took me 8 months to get them and the bathroom fully fixed) are my #2 nightmare after losing heat in bitter cold, so I feel for you. Glad it's improving, and you have a very nice mailman!
Helena, I don't have much to say. I respect you not wanting to discuss things; I might respond the same way, if and when I'm faced with such a thing (as we all will be). But I am here to listen, as are so many in this never ending thread. The grief and rage and fear must be overwhelming at times. Yet (and I hope this does not sound facile because it's not) I hope you can still find moments of joy and laughter and even just noting the sheer cussedness of life.
