It's variable around here. Sometimes the spuds last until they sprout, sometimes they get fuzzy in just a week or two. Rumor has it that the big growers will store potatoes for months depending on the crop and the market. I'm always suspicious when they're selling a 10 lb bag for only 25 cents more than a 5 lb bag.
