I came to a conclusion yesterday evening. I decided I wasn't going to win by conventional means. So, let's go heterodox and make the end of this game, at least, memorable for something other than missing players.
When I was young I played a lot of bridge. One of the things you learn is that in some hands, you can only win if the cards lie just so. When that happens, assume that the cards are where you need them and play to win.
When this game started, I learned not only that I was in a team, but that one of the great unwashed - the sixteen that were Not Us - there was one who was just waiting for us to reach out to them. Now, it's possible that the player in question was Lightfoot; she had some poison, and Wombat started with poison as well. Although that would make sense of Lightfoot's very difficult wincon, I don't believe that at a gut level, and I can't win if it is correct, so I'm proceeding as if it is not.
It's also possible that it's one of the five living players. If it is, and you're out there, we can still win.
All we have to do is vote with me to force a tie and play the numbers. If there's no lynch, then I'll take the recruiting action. (I have to try and kill you, but I have Word of Mod that you survive.) Tomorrow it's another Mexican standoff, then we get to kill one of the living Townies and win.
It's possible that both I and our chosen lynch candidate swing, in which case you're in better shape to come up with your third party wincon.
It's possible that Bill is the recruitable player, in which case there are three active Town and I've lost. It's also possible that Bill is Town in which case he might wake up and break up this last-ditch play. Again, I can't win.
Out of Chucara, crys or Scuba Ben, I know it's not Scuba. So, without further ado: -
