Werewolves

Werewolves!

Werewolves have invaded the peaceful town of Perth. You must root out the hairy beasts before they kill you all.

Posting and PMs:
You may post at night if you wish.

No screenshots or the like are allowed, nor chat logs or anything similar. Private Messages cannot be quoted, they must be paraphrased.

You cannot PM other players.

Once you are dead you are allowed one non game related post. Then you must refrain from commenting on the game. On your death I will invite you to join a quicktopic with the rest of the dead players. If you wish to be spoiled I can do that too.

Roleplaying is encouraged (though I understand it may be difficult).

Day and Night Phases:
Let me know what time scaling you want for the day and night phases. I'm happy to host at the standard 5 days 2 nights if you want.

There may be Day or Night powers, and they will resolve at the end of their respective phase according to a set order.

Vote and unvote for players using the vote and unvote tags: [.vote] and [.unvote]

Other Rules:
If you miss two day phases in a row or three in total with any reasonable excuse or informing me why you will be WoG'ed. No exceptions for role. If you do not vote, but you do post I will allow it.

Have fun. This is not an option . If you don't think you'll have fun with this game... don't join it. Nor if you feel you won't be able to participate.

Sign up below. I'd like 17 players maximum.

Let me know how long you guys would like each phase to be. I'd prefer 5 days to two nights to keep me sane.

There will be some powers in this game.

I'm a pretty big advocate for short Nights. I think most folks with Night actions act quickly, or should be expected too. The vanilla folks have a boring time at Night.

If scum or a town power role don't put their orders in, it's their fault.

I'd either do a 24 hour Night or simply say that once orders are in, night ends. Yeah, no changing Night Orders after the final one comes in.

Day? 4 days or so is plenty. Maybe with the option to extend.

I don't have a real preference on timings, but I loved the way that Red had a hammer of majority + 2. High enough that you don't really need to worry about accidentally hammering, but still there to get day over with when the town is in complete agreement.

Yeah, I also support a good hammer system that moves the game along.

Stagnancy is the game-killer.

I do like shorter Nights - but- it hinders Scum - unless they have the power to direct each others powers in absentia ( but- and if- Town has Night powers as well- then it should balance)

EOD is tough when it occurs in the middle of the work day but we have so many time zones that it makes it moot

Your time zone ( and personal schedule) will dictate that.

I'll join. I'm new to this board, but not to forum Mafia. I've been out of games for about 4 years though, but it would be nice to play a game again. So if you'll have me, I'd be more than willing to play.

Even though it hurts Town, I'd do it to keep the game moving.

I await an early vote against me because of my scuminess right now.

Thanks. Glad to be here. I honestly don't remember the exact name of the board or site I used to play on. I lost the bookmarks and stuff with my new computer. Some were AIM based long term games. And some were normal 5 days Days like being discussed for this one.

Have enough for a game, would like a few more, but if we don't get any more that is fine. Probably going to start on the Tuesday.

For now, I will probably have a 4/1 day night cycle. Let me know if you want it extended. I will put in a hammer of 50% +1 (14 = 8, 13 = 8, 12 = 7). I do like - once orders are in or 24 hours has passed whatever comes first is when night ends.

The phase ends will probably be around 8pm Australian Eastern Standard Time GMT+10 (6am EDT). I could do 10am AEDT which would be 8pm (previous day) EDT.

Let me know what you would prefer.

Can we get a countdown timer to whatever time you decide on? I can already tell I'm going to have a problem.

And whatever is easiest for you, Visor, is fine with me. Being prompt with the phase changes is way more important to me than what time they are.

I was attempting to, but life atm is so bleeping crazy that I was not as focused on the game as I should have been. That, and the name mechanic...

And me being lazy didn't help matters... But oh well.

Colby, you're forgetting the purpose of mafia games is not to catch the werewolves, but to make penis jokes while pretending to catch werewolves.

You should /in to not try so hard, and enjoy the ride. It's just a parlor game between friends to make them not bored and have a good time with their friends.

Catching werewolves is not serious business.

Besides, maybe this will be the one game where you and I are on the same team. It can happen!

I agree that you don't have to take the game too seriously, but you do still need the time to read the thread which some people didn't seem to have in the last game.

ahem..
by pointing out your post count you are suggesting that you are not the Meeko that we are familiar with ( as that player has many more posts than this incarnation is sporting.)

ergo- you are a stalker Meeko ( although why anyone would choose to impersonate the Meeko I am not sure) OR

Now is a good time as any: I can't find the source image for my Avatar.

Idle's is down, so I can't backtrack it through there, and Geocaching (It is my custom Geocaching Raccoon Avatar, after all) doesn't offer any URLs

A phone taking a photo of an Ipad screen makes for a degraded 'caching 'coon.
