But as far as the actual discussion worthy of this subforum - I was genuinely surprised how this video beat for beat describes Trumpism. Why does this keep happening? I'm beginning to feel it's because we humans like to tell stories so much that we tell ourselves the story of institutions and behavioral norms. That they'll survive come what may, and that they're competent and immune to disruption. Unfortunately, institutions comprise the very same humans telling themselves stories ... And some of us humans on the edges of the bell curve like to abuse the behavioral norms that bind others in order to better lie, cheat, and steal their way to the top. You like a warm cup of hot chocolate in front of a fire on a snowy day? Well they like to fool other people, obtain power, and exercise it.

I don't even know if there's a discussion to be had here. Part lament, part anger, part resignation.
