Snark Thread Titles: A Poll
We need to have a serious talk about thread titles. Do we keep numbering them or change it up with a different methodology because there will be so many shrugs between 99 and 2112.
We also need to talk about Fenris but let's do that on S3. |

I'm your first voter! You are as awesome as TruCelt! You should be so proud of yourself!

We need a second poll on whether alky's comment belongs in a different thread. Wait here for the link.

We also need a poll on who's gonna buy me another beer.

Concept: just this once lets go with what Fenris wants.

Merge the first 99 threads, reuse the "Durp Snark 2: Durplectric Boogaloo" title for new thread.

It looks like the monthly titles have a clear and decisive plurality of the votes that matter.

What, my protest vote doesn't matter? Sir, I protest.

Votes for the "I don't vote in public polls" option are discounted because of paradox. The Fenris votes are discounted because they are fact, not opinion.

What's this talk about discounting votes? Is Congress having a sale this month?

I'm just sad all we have to snark on is the Durp.
My favorite website that was so awesome in its heyday was EtiquetteHell and it only gets maybe 50 posts per day across many boards. It's hard to snark on political boards because it becomes an echo chamber... (or head pounding... which hurts). Besides here and the Dork is there a board left where liberal, odd, and I like Cheese posts still survive? |

I miss USENET because other than people blocking others on their end... everyone had a say with no rules (well, if you talked about killing someone... someone would find out who you were and turn you, which was a good thing).
It's sad that so many internet providers cut USENET. I also miss the porn kind of pix that you could find if you looked at enough sub- whatever they were called back then (my mind forgets: alt. you. know. what. I . am . talking. about ). Some of them made nice pix to use as composition pictures or blended or cut/cropped etc. I _never_ checked out the mpeg pages... nope, never. Nor did I share them with anyone. Back then. USENET. |

Sometimes I marvel at how everything was established in Usenet that became part of the world wide web culture, from trolling and sock puppetry to cyberbullying. It was all there in 1993.
Also porn. There was plenty of porn then, translated into enormous text strings you had to reassemble on the other end. Not that I ever did that, I just heard about it. |

I used to hang out there, too. First on their original site which was hilarious; then they had a Delphi forum until they got in a board war with the Delphi snark board and flounced to the site they have now. Those bitches are crazy.

I had a friend who joined a wedding discussion board as she was planning her own; she pointed me to it purely as a place to enjoy snarkworthy drama by self-centered bridezilllas. Alas I no longer remember what it's called. My recreational hate-reading of boards was squeezed out of me when I became a parent (because there is no place in cyberspace worse than a parenting board).

It is more interesting in binary, 1111111.

That's almost true. There is however, a far worse place.

Yes, running boards, by the barometers of sneak-bragging and shaming. "Why did it take you 20 minutes to run 5K? Are you injured?"
