Do you want to talk about this in another thread? I would be happy to. I actually knew Pete a little towards the end of his life and I knew a lot of the Sloop Singers who knew him a lot better. Pete was one of the most active "White People" I know of for Civil Rights. A part of what got him Black Listed. He also has a legacy of trying to literally save the world from environmental damage. He never would have knowingly ripped off the writer of the song.
