In the last snark thread, I summarized the tale of umkay that happened in the summer of 2012. But did you know there was a sequel? This is the tale of jaymac1, which can only be described as the crappy direct to DVD sequel to the previous summer's blockbuster.

So a year later, in 2013, another plucky young wheelchair-bound girl by the name of jaymac1 signed up and started a thread asking for advice about dating a devote. Sound familiar?

A pit thread is quickly started, and damned if the first several responses aren't "hey, give it a chance! Maybe this one is real!" despite the fact that the troll in question replied to the pit thread within 10 minutes claiming not to be umkay while making references to the umkay saga that showed familiarity with the whole thing. It may not have been the same person behind the jaymac1 account, but it was a troll nonetheless.

The thread goes on and on, with the snarkers (aka the ones using logic and reason) press for proof that jaymac1 was who she said she was. After some stalling, a picture is posted of a young blonde girl in a wheelchair. Posters request another pic of the same girl holding a sign or doing a thumbsup or whatever. The troll claims not to have a pen or anything to write on.

jaymac claimed to be in Scotland, and as it happened user Cinnamon Imp (who I think is a Raffer too) lived near where jaymac claimed to be from, and offered to meet her ar a local coffee shop to verify her identity. jaymac agrees and a date is set.

It may shock you to learn that jaymac doesn't show up for the meeting. She returns to the thread, claiming the bus didn't show up (Cinnamon Imp did show up as promised and posted a picture proving she was at the coffee shop in question at the agreed upon time). Since she had previously referenced owning a car with hand controls, someone asks for proof of that. She posts a pic of a car with hand controls that Dopers quickly trace back to a current post of the car for sale at some auto lot. Someone even called the place in question to confirm if the car in the picture was still on their lot (it was).

At some point during this, it's suggested that jaymac take another photo of her car with hand controls, with a piece of paper visible reading "SDMB". She posts the same photo she yanked from the suto lot's listing with a white square reading "SDMB" sloppily MS Paint'ed onto one of the seats. That got deleted quickly, but someone found a cached copy of it, so you can see the photo in all its glory here

So, pretty hilarious troll. Most people at this point are having fun at the troll's expense, but there are still people arguing about this poor wheelchair bound vulnerable girl being bullied and made to feel unwelcome and made to jump through hoops and all of this could have a reasonable explanation and okay maybe its a troll but maybe not you never know and blah.

Suspicions confirmed! It was in fact a troll. Logic and reason win the day, a few Typical Doper types look like dumbasses, and lessons were learned.

Except that after the confession, some of them are still arguing about it. Mangeout in particular had been one of jaymac's staunchest defenders, and he keeps it going after the confession post, saying essentially "Well, okay, this one was a troll after all, but what was so implausible about her story? True, the skeptics had plenty of troll-dar that all turned out to be right on the money, but what happens if another disabled young girl discovers the SDMB? Is this how we'll treat her??"
