Rob Manfred continues his quest to try to ruin baseball

now in AA the defense is required to have 4 infielders begin with their feet in the dirt when a pitch is thrown now you may say this is a tiny unimportant change, and this is, but it seems like it's just the very beginning of the process of the ultimate goal to get rid of the shift in the majors. it's a frog boiling thing |

The AL lost me at the designated hitter in 1973. If I had wanted to watch little league, I wouldn't have blown-off every single game my four sons played to attend my daughters' soccer games to hit on their teammates moms.
(Please note that is not true, I have no offspring.)

They keep doing shit to see if it'll make me quit following baseball. The universal designated hitter ought to do it. I like that the games in double-headers are only seven innings now, tho'.

I don't care for seven inning games, but that is small potatoes compared to the designated hitter bullshit. I want to watch major league baseball. If I want to watch kids play and everyone get a trophy, well, I can do that without shelling out $100 plus per game per person.

Y'all get off my lawn
When there used to be two separate Major Leagues and the AL had the DH, I waz fine with it as long as it got kept out of the senior circuit, which it did.
I'm a Cards fan and very traditional about baseball but seven innings is about right for half of a twin-bill. I've mostly lived in cities with AA or AAA and their double-header games are seven innings each and always have been as long as I can remember and it works Ok. There's been a pitch clock in the minors for a few years now. It's Ok there but I don't want them to have it in MLB. |
