All Night Chroma - Mvt. 2: Mutations With Reeds
Listen to the eerie dulcet tones of swellbox flutes and reeds, of otherworldly corners of the organ not often heard.
A far cry from the noble, unflappable majesty one is used to, they seem to suggest vulnerability, anxiety, loneliness...and with the entrance of the pedal bass below, perhaps even the creeping fear of death... -------------------------- Precambrianmollusc, GREEN, has been voted out. Vanta Black, BLUE, has died by other means. LIVING PLAYERS:

So is it right to say that we probably lost two Town, but we can't be sure? With no real information, how do we even try to make informed decisions?
|
#7
|
||||
|
||||
Well, we DO have one super important piece of information: We are down to eight players, and we aren't in LyLo (the Mod would have told us, per the rules). Therefore, there must be only two scum; either we started with two or we got lucky with PCM.

And, in the absence of someone claiming to have vigged Vanta, we can assume they were the NK and therefore Town.

|
||||
Nuances of the immediate game aside, has scum ever NKd scum before? For a deception such as this?

So if there are three scum... And there are 5 town... We wouldn't be at LYLO would we?
|
#14
|
||||
|

If there were 3 scum and we lost two more town, it would be 3-3. Most Mods would call that a scum win, though some would keep playing until the scum had an absolute majority. Looking at the rules I don't see that Kaiveran specified either way.
Do scum need an absolute majority to win, or just to achieve parity? |

So, were the scum afraid of Vanta's plan, or just of Vanta? If there are in fact only two scum, Vanta's plan would have been strongly pro-Town. Not a great look for those who loudly opposed the plan.
raven is lock town. No way scum passes up the chance to dunk on me at the last minute there. Major FOS on the three players who did want to get rid of a strong player instead of a potato on Day One. I feel confident there is at least one and quite likely two scum in Meeko/Dizzy/LightFoot. I think of the three, Meeko is actually the least likely to be scum, because he started the whole thing and because he does unpredictable things as town. So yeah, let's go there. |

Funny that scum (maybe) killed Vanta for fear of their idea catching on. And yet, most of the players have now checked in and nobody seems to have a Tracker result to report.

How ?
In general, if we do figure out how to best play this one, all of us, together, it will be only at the end. --- Are there any of us out here, who have successfully been able to divorce our play here, from our play in ""regular"" mafia games? Like, ok, I feel I've already said this, but to circle back around, the posts and the attitudes of other games won't work here. The greater of the two evils, is trying to figure out how to reverse the car, do the three point turn, and drive in the right direction. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
#24
|

Some may have tracked and have no need to report at this time.

If we did Vanta's plan Today,
Meeko and I track each other LightFoot and raven track each other BC and Mahaloth track each other Dizzy and Colby track each other The Dizzy/Colby pair would also have been in effect Yesterday, so if they were both scum Dizzy presumably would have been all for it. I'm not scum, and I really doubt either of the other two pairs are scum. So I propose this. Let's carry Vanta on to victory on the Chromatic Cannonball. Or something. |

So, I will outright admit to not even knowing that the above had even been proposed. But, the problem is, how can we assume it gets done? Who watches us? Who Watches the Watchers? A P.O. Box in theory could break the chain. But.... the entire "Wedlock" situation here ..... tickles my brain, in a good way. ![]() ![]() Holy crap, is that a movie I have not thought about in AGES. And you are talking to someone who, just yesterday got "Cloak and Dagger*" and "The Last Starfighter" through a convoluted program celebrating his 5 years with his employer. * And I was like, wait, Elliot from ET?! He did other films?! --- I was going to save this for a PM, but screw it. I will ask here. Hopefully it is a measure of goodwill, or helps to provide more information, directly, or in directly. Kai, did you nerf the ability to accrue additional chroma points to spend on powers when you changed the player count down?

What exactly is our math here?
That is to say, I thought that most games last 4 "nights" so I guess that we are at half that, as far as IRL timing goes. But then again, we also have Red / Green / Blue ..... in place of color for reveals. Who does this help more? If It helps scum more, as I would assume that ultimately, it does, are we looking at One Scum from the beginning? The scum can camouflage better among all the "Colors in this game tell us something, but not really" -ness. Because, like, the thing that I still cling to, is that town is going to need time to solve this. You can't move the goal posts out so far, and then not give corresponding additional time to figure it out. I must assume that there is a way for Town to win this game, that is better than chance, better than a guess. Shouldn't this lower the number of Scum at start? |

I doubt there would only be one. Nobody wants to design a setup that could end on Day One.
7-2 is usually considered well balanced, so 8-2 would be slightly pro-town. Given that we don’t have flips, 7-3 does seem really overpowered for scum. But I don’t think we can afford to ASSUME there are only 2. |

I'm guessing EW is green and most likely Town, then. Just a hot take and guess based somewhat on this post here. No real evidence to take from it though.

Well .... I was coming in to do this.... And seeing as how my chroma points are more or less fixed... I'm further incentivized to do this.
1. Your reaction. 2. Your reaction, even if it wasn't out of character for the EW account, or any other (with respect, obviously) account in your sock drawer. 2.5 I'll get back to point 2 momentarily. 3. It is PIS 3.5 Or at least a reaction adjacent to PIS and or because of the PIS. 4. Yes. Because you were playing chess, as we were playing checkers. 5. The entire lack of getting extra chroma points. 6. Because this is a hill I need to die on. (See Number 2) 6.1 And I need to die on this hill, 'as' Meeko. 6.2 Yes. The legacy of the last game. 6.3 Yes, because I get to do this, not 'as' Mendie. 7. Yeah. If we need to talk about Mendie, we can do that later. Ask me about the relevant YouTube video, and my most recent trip to Harrahs. 8. Because the unorthodox rule set this game has. 8.1 I am not and will not find a better lead than I will be willing to "get on board with." 9. This is my bone. 10. Besides. "Mendie is going to Mendie" doesn't quite work the same.
