That is indeed worth a pity party. 30 years!

I would think they owe you about three years of severance, or monetary equivalent! (This is probably why nobody would ever pick me to run a company, too soft.)

Here is my pity party, I actually need a good pub crawl with my buddies. But three of them moved away (too expensive here for one, the other two had issues with altitude), a fourth had a TBI a few years ago and limits herself to one adult beverage per pub crawl, so I have to drink alone.

As long as I'm whining, on Weds. it was 84 degrees (yay!) and I wore my sandals to walk my dogs 10,000 steps or so. About 5000 steps and I got a blister on my heel when I was the max distance from anything that could help. So the plan was to wear flipflops for the walk on Thurs. Welp, it snowed. There are folks here who wear flipflops in the snow but I am not one of them. So the next best thing is to drink until I can't feel my feet, but see aforementioned lack of buddies.

Given that your vote is by far the most reasoned here, and Vanta's vote in the final hours was obviously self-prez, it would appear that LF and Maha invite the most scrutiny here. Since I had already gone into how similar their play appeared for much of the game, you may be onto something.

I also seem to recall them never interacting with each other substantively, but I'd have to go back over the Day to verify that. And working weekends affords me little latitude to do so.

This is unfathomably terrible, and you have more than a right to your feelings and/or not putting that much into this game. You have my utmost sympathies no matter what happens within it. Know that.

I dunno if it was a game on here that I got into unnecessarily political, but at the risk of skirting the rules, this reminds me of what I attempted (poorly) to communicate back then.

My beef with capitalism is basically the same as revolutionaries in past centuries (e.g French & American). It's not that rule by dictatorial CEOs or can NEVER work, just as they didn't deny that the kings of old sometimes did great. It's just that we have no legal way to correct it when it goes bad, and when it goes bad, it goes REALLY bad. Anything good you build for yourself under one ruler can be instantly destroyed under the next. Absolute power of any kind is poisonous, and it sucks to hear you've been bitten by it.

If I may add to the epic bitchfest a bit:

• My arms are still sore as hell from yard work yesterday, largely the same muscles I have to pummel tonight which is my longest workday
• After a few days of having a normal schedule, I overslept heavy today and generally feel like Draggy McDragface (but probably won't be able to get to sleep easily b/c of work)
• Although I do pay utilities, I still live in a situation that's largely at the charity of family who've shown signs of Facebook et al. brain poison, and so I'm basically forced into the closet here unless I can swing rent-added financial independence by some miracle

A lot of this seems like small fry, especially compared to having more than half a life of dedicated material efforts suddenly yanked from under you. But let's not play that game, or any game.

Let's just take a moment to recognize that behind the IM/UR masks we are all people, with inherent worth and value and all kinds of baggage. Every day is an ordeal we've somehow survived. But I want us to be excellent to each other no matter how fucked it gets. I pray someday we might all know peace while we're still here.
