Best airline to the US?
My mate and I are planning on travelling to New York or Los Angeles in mid-July from London. We don't have much money and enjoy a bit of drinks so we were wondering what airline has the best amenities (legroom, free food, free drink?
I've heard that the American ones with the exception of Delta are bad for anything free in economy class. Apparently, KLM, British Airways, Air France, and Virgin are much better. Does anyone have any experiences with the European airlines? I'd also prefer travelling on the 787 if possible. |

In my experience with airlines, you can travel (relatively) inexpensively, or you can travel with amenities like legroom and in-flight meals. You can't do both as a general rule. Some really rare exceptions may exist, but you have a better chance at spotting a unicorn.

I've only flown to the US recently with BA and they've been fine.
For non-UK airlines, I had a really good experience with Iceland Air but had to travel to Holland for that one. We've also used Lufthansa and SAS from both Stockholm and Oslo. |
