Your adorableness is the only reason you continue to live

This morning an hour before my alarm was set to go off I was woken up by a kitty. An adorable, loving kitty with a death wish apparently. He stood next to me on the bed and mewed until I woke up because I wasn't holding him. As soon as I extended my left arm he curled up and snuggled into me and reached a paw out to indicate that he wanted me to wrap my arm all the way around him. It was so freaking cute I wanted to squee but seriously it was 6 am! I don't have to be awake until 7! After I wrapped my arm around him like I was snuggling a baby he started purring and was content to let me go back to sleep for a bit but I still think that makes him a kitteh-jerk. I'm going to wait until he goes to sleep this evening and then I'm going to force belly pettings upon him.

Well how else am I supposed to get revenge on a cat that won't cause him to poop in my shoes as retaliation?

A hundred times we've said to Sadie the Pup: "It's a good thing you're cute!"

Where's the pic of the kitteh?

"You're lucky you're cute" is a catchphrase around our place these days. Puggles = work of Satan.

Bugaboo is both lucky she is cute and that I am no longer working. She leaps into the bed with me around 5:30am, nudges my arm to make me wake up enough to reach out and give her a few lazy pets, then proceeds to throw herself heavily against me, purring and stretching and rolling and nuzzling her head into every crevice she can find. She's a big girl, she heaves herself with some mighty whomps. Then wiggle wiggle wiggle. Then she starts licking my elbows. Then nipping. Eventually, she falls into a deep sleep. And she sleeps hard. With the other two cats, if even a muscle twitches in my leg, they scoot off. I can boot Bugaboo clear across the bed after hubby's gone to work, and she won't wake up.

This is the kitteh in question. This is his brother. Their cuteness is obviously an evolutionary survival mechanism.

First, that is a gorgeous cat!

Second, this made me laugh and also had my nipples twitching. Why, you ask?

Well, when I did have a cat, Sqwubsy, (What? Julian Cope! FTW!) used to take great pleasure in sleeping lengthwise down my body, facing me when I would be watching telly or reading. For some unfathomeable kitty reason, I think she liked the feeling of warm breath on her. (It was only fair, she liked to wake me up with hers!).

Well, as she would relax, she'd start to purring and chilling and then she'd start kneading. Now, I like a good knead but when you have razor sharp talons and an unerring sense of nipple location it can sure take your mind off what you were doing. I think she used the claws to hang on as I would leap about two feet in the air.

I think it was a kind of kitty bucking bronco. Happy times.

ETA: After seeing pbbth's pics, now I really want a kitty again... :sniff:

She is a pretty kitty. She's got snowshoe in her somewhere (the personality traits are spot on), but she's too fluffy to be purebred.

You should have seen her when she was a kitten. So cute you could puke.

First off: do eeeet! Get a keeeety! Keeeety will looooooove you!

Secondly: My esteem of you, which was already pretty high, has skyrocketed with your reference to Julian Cope. Dude, Julian Cope! Awesome. I used to be a big fan of The Teardrop Explodes.

Julian was a front-runner for boy names primarily - for me - because of Julian Cope. Eventually, hubby rejected it for a "cooler" name, but if we have two boys, it's still in the running.

My psycho, oldest cat is now also lucky she is adorable. Bastian, aka "Sea Bass"... well, here is the email I just sent to my husband, who is working late tonight and I figured he'd need a laugh:

"I cleaned out the fruit bowl; it was just a few of the apples left, and they didn't taste right anymore, and one lemon. The lemon is still good, so I put the bowl in the dishwasher and left the lemon on the table, forgetting about it.

I'm in the living room, on the sofa, watching the Colbert Report, and suddenly I hear the worst ruckus in the kitchen. BOMP BOMP BOMP - THWACK. I look up and I see Bugaboo on the cat tree, looking confused, and Kero is sitting with me. So it's Sea Bass. WHOMP. I hear her hit the ground, hard, then Tokyo drift into the bathroom, of all places. I go into the kitchen, and this is what I see.

No idea how she did that."

Why thank you m'lady. What a lovely thing to say! Sadly, however much I may yearn for some pu... hang on, let me rephrase that. However much I may desire a cat, my evil l/l won't allow them. Also, I think the flat is really too small, I don't think it would be fair unless I got an outdoor cat and I'm right on a busy main road... Le sigh. And your pictures of Bugaboo as a kitty... my my, gorgeous wrapped up in cute with a strawberry (non-sexual) on top!

Anyhoo, Julian's weird character was actually a male being called Mr. Sqwubbsey (I think? Not 100% on the spelling) and I just tweaked it. It's a perfect name for talking st00pid to a cat. (Well we have to keep them off their guard!)

Aww what cute kitties. Salambo, Bugaboo is gorgeous, I love her coat, she looks really soft.

I have a cat, Simba, whom I have mentioned many times. If I had a pic to show, I would. She's so cute it's criminal, but she is naughty all the time and I just don't have it in me to discipline her, so she is spoiled rotten and a bit of a brat. She walks across our heads when she thinks it's time for us to get out of bed and has recently taken to sitting at the foot of the bed and yowling until one of us gets up. If she wasn't so dang cute I'd kick her ass.
