Military March Music
I was playing a game on FB (a fireworks casino game) and the background music was all the military march type of music.
Most movies I've seen featuring parade marches, use the same old couple of songs. Is there new march music written and performed that I've never heard? Do scores for films only use march music that's in the public domain? Curious chick, I am. |

The Firesign Theatre wrote the "Rough As A Cob" march for one of their albums. I don't think it's ever been published separately.

Well, according to this Amazon page, the USAF Band of the Rockies (they took on that name in 1993) released the Space Command March in 2003. But I haven't found when it was actually written or by whom.

"The Sound of Pride" is a good way to describe it. As might be expected, the Prussians have some great marches. This is one of the best.
Frei Weg This version is pretty good, but the one I have is performed by the Pipes and Drums and Combined Bands of the Black Watch Royal Highland Regiment, and I swear it will make you get up and march around the room. Paul Anka wrote the Theme For The Longest Day, and that is excellent. Last edited by Harry; 10th December 2011 at 03:31 PM. |

All I can play is the stereo, but I can change volume with the best of 'em.
