Newsletter edition 73 for you -- New Non-Rule for the Box
(If you have not subscribed to this newsletter, please disregard this post. This posting is a courtesy to the subscribers, who have shown an interest in the content.)
New Non-rule for the BYB. Threads can be moved out of BYB if they're deemed "too dangerous" for the Box. ------------------------------------------------------ Lest I be blamed again for not posting about the latest non-rule, I'm posting this edition of the latest newsletter. The original guidelines for BYB were that: Quote:
The New Non-rule for BYB is that threads can be moved out of BYB if they're deemed "too dangerous" for the BYB. Once the thread has been moved out of BYB, anything happening in that thread can of course be moderated, including posts posted in the BYB. So no thread started in BYB (or anywhere else on GB) can be expected to *not* have moderation. All threads can be moderated, even if some of them are moved to another forum before that happens. I just had this thread moved from BYB. I now demand that my future threads not be moved from BYB. But the mods will reply that the mods agreed that threads could be moved out of BYB if they're "too dangerous" for the BYB. Now I personally have tried to stay far away from this standard of "too dangerous" and I was buoyed by the comments Giraffe might have posted about my threads in BYB: Quote:
But somehow, one of my threads in BYB got unlucky. That's how I know about the newest non-rule in the BYB. And now I'm reporting it to you, in this post, so you're up to date on some of the latest non-rules on the board with no rules. *I'm using non-rules here because I've heard there are no rules here and because I've heard that only stodgy message boards have Byzantine rules that contradict themselves. |
