To be clear, it is an uneven bracket (total field of 79 characters  ), and some of the matches you see currently are a step higher in the tree than others. The tournament was essentially seeded by characters' script prominence (number of screen appearances and volume of dialogue). I mentioned the top set already. So far we've seen a bunch of matches from the bottom thirty (including the fifteen from the "qualifying" lists), and some from the middle set, as this was. Structurally, a loss in the first match for the middle set is equivalent to a win followed by a loss for characters from the bottom set. If that makes sense.Point being, there is a method to the madness, and I'm not playing favorites.
