Candy Megapoll Round 3: Mint Truffles vs. Caramel Bullseyes
I know a guy who's tough but sweet

Caramel Bullseyes are yet another food that can be placed on a finger after you eat the white stuff out of the middle. These aren't necessarily better than a mint truffle but they get my vote for the nostalgia factor. Besides, neither of these will end up being in the final round so it doesn't matter a lot to me which one wins this round.

Man, mint just should not be a truffle flavor.

Mint is definitely a lesser truffle.

I was persuadable on this one, and Hoser's post pulled me over to the Bullseyes' side. There's a lot of nostalgia for Bullseyes for me, too. I'll say that mint truffles are better than people have been making them out to be in this megapoll, though. They really suffer only from comparison to other truffles.

It's so sad watching you go around saying crazy things and then lashing out at others for your own failings. Just sad.

Thank God for Hoser. Until she said that, I didn't know what a caramel bullseye was. It was one of my favorite occasion candies--I wouldn't buy them, but if offered them, I would eat as many as I thought I could get away with. They weren't marketed very aggressively in my town, though. I'm not sure I remember them being offered for sale at the local convenience store where the kids went to get their candy fix.
Except in certain circumstances, I dislike mint + chocolate. Frangos are an exception, as are Andes (nostalgia--would never actually eat an Andes mint today). Mint, IMO, overpowers the chocolate, but I'm no fan of any mint... |
