Greatest Hit of the 60s – Round 1f: Good Lovin'-1966 vs. Like a Rolling Stone-1965

Pick the best:
Good Lovin' by The Young Rascals #11 in 1966 vs. Like a Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan #41 in 1965

. . .

After several bad or weak matchups in sub-round 1f, now we get two classics I really like. I'm a monster!

Bruce Willis did "Good Lovin'" better, whereas Dylan's "singing" voice fits "Like A Rolling Stone" perfectly.

Bob Dylan's "voice" makes me stabby.

Holy shit, that is right there with Shatner's Lucy in the Sky.
WTF was he thinking?

I would say better, but very good and from the best episode of Moonlighting.

Rhino Records once had a series of compilation CDs called "Golden Throats" which collected songs from actors' vanity project albums, most of whom had no business ever trying to sing.

They are absolutely hilarious.

Sebastian Cabot was a great actor, but singing? Nope. Just nope.

Wikipedia page

Some selections:

"Proud Mary" - Leonard Nimoy (I'm trying to imagine Spock singing "big wheels keep on toinin', Proud Mary keep on boinin' and failing utterly)
"Stand By Me" - Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali)
"Twist and Shout" - Mae West
"Peace In The Valley" - Wink Martindale
"Got to Get You into My Life" - Little Joe (Pesci)

Oh, and
"John Shaft" - Sammy Davis, Jr.

That's the most horrifically hilarious thing I've seen in ages.

I thought Joe Pesci could sing, but not here at least.

Maybe it was just harmony for Doo Wop.

Pittsburgh's oldies station (which now suffers from mission creep) 3WS had a tradition when playing Good Lovin' that during the long silent part they would fill in one line of memetic talking. Things like:

"You rang?"
"I'm walkin' here"
"Take the cannoli"
"I am not a crook"
"I am your father"

And this version is great. When you watch the Moonlighting version, note that Bruce Willis claps along off-rhythm. Check the first 10 seconds.
