Texas can't borrow power from other states

47 of the lower 48 states can simply ask for power from the rest of the country and expect to get it. One of them has laws making it illegal, and has set up a physical system to make it impossible. (Note, this grid does not include the West Texas town of El Paso, where I once fell in love with a Mexican girl named Felina. But I digress.)

I truly hope that these people, let's call them "Texans", smarten up and fix this situation.

Due to the speed of electricity through power lines, this could have taken far less than a microsecond to fix, and no one would have even known it was a thing.

But.....but.....SOCIALISM!! REGULATION!!!

That's just typical wooly-headed librul "thinking." True Texans would rather freeze, then die of dysentery or cholera than do something so communist as rely on a whole country to power us when we can't (because our power companies are Evil. And Stupid.)

And the state government is Venal, Evil AND Stupid. You'd think a bunch of freewheelin' gun totin' mavericks would be dragging the lot of them out for a necktie party but obviously the blood has run thin there. Oh well.

Enron did a fine job of abusing trust and cooperation when it comes to power sharing.

Here's a nice little Twitter thread detailing why Texas is so very very fukt.

And funny thing, Enron was based in Houston so why would they be so very distrustful of one of their own?

Then they went running to Biden for federal help and guess what he gave it to them without carping about how they voted against him or tweeting any mocking insults.

It really shows what a joke their "secession" scenarios are. It's like a microcosm for it.

It shows how weak Biden is for not demanding that they kiss his mushroom.

Texas would probably not need electricity from the rest of us if their utilities would just upgrade their systems to handle cold weather like this. Sure, it doesn't happen often, but it does happen, and will continue to happen. Penny wise and pound foolish.

I had a co-worker who bought into those private energy companies. He had his car wrapped in their logo and would come up to you at lunch and say "wouldn't you like to pay less for on your electric bill next month?" I'm no dummy. I made it through Tupperware parties, Shaklee Vitamin assaults, and a boss who was a Third Level Wizard in the Land of Amway. I can sniff MLM bs when I smell it. I finally said "No, I don't trust it." and he left me alone. He retired, but his wife is still around. I'm going to keep my ear to the ground to hear how they fared.

No, we can't borrow power, but we've got a senator for sale. 1 previous owner (Trump) and not very smart. Learned how to gauge other's reactions from previous master. Sorry about that.
