The big OOG news affecting all of us notwithstanding, I had to put my car in the shop today. It threw my entire day out of whack. Included in this was any chance to get back to the before EOD, apparently.

That is, i was not aware we were at EOD already.

But, from the look of things, it looks like perhaps that was for the best. --- if we had the shenanigans as we had them, that is. Don't misunderstand, losing a cop sucks, losing a coin flip sucks, together it's unmentionable.

Don't plan on it changing my vote. Just the opposite.

I'll need to go over everything after I posted last in D1, tonight, irl, after I get off from this shift at work.

Still, I do appreciate that a place like this hasn't fully succumbed to the ravages of time and centralization, and keeps doing it's own weird thing.

What I don't appreciate as much is a Town Cop succumbing to the ravages of an EoD coin flip. I'm sure most of you are feeling the same way, but don't think for a second that the game is over yet. That's the greatest gift you could give the wolf team. We probably have more aces than that up our collective sleeve, but more than that, we have our wits. Let's keep them about us.

Nope. Which is bizarre b/c I just took a quick look at the approach to EoD and he was totally there to do it. It seems like he believed he had tooootally caught a wolf in guiri and that his flip would cement that read, but like, he at least could have claimed and had a chance to flip it on to him! But spilt milk, etc.

I think whether or not charlie's hypothesis is correct depends critically on whether the wagons were TvT or TvS. I plan to explore and map out both worlds before D2.

The last couple of games I played where the cop claimed fairly early town did really well. I'm thinking it's protown to claim, even if you aren't in vote peril, because then the doc knows who to protect and the vig knows who not to shoot. At least the best person not to shoot.

Each Night, you may target a player to investigate their alignment. However, like so many Mafia players, you are a little paranoid about Third Parties. If your target is Town or Scum, you will have a 75% chance of reading them correctly and a 25% chance of misreading them as a Third Party. You will always accurately identify actual Third Parties.

You win when all anti-Town forces have been eliminated.

As for a lack of a claim, I suggest you check the time stamps of the last-minute voting. All statements to the effect that they would have unvoted are at best disingenuous.

Damnit. I do understand sort of now about gnarly and him being suspicious about a 3P being mentioned but it did seem obvious to me that there was possibly a 3P out there and I wasn't suspicious of guiri for mentioning that because I was thinking the same thing.

So this is the usual player who accuses another of PIS having PIS themselves - which is usually a scumtell, he knew there were third parties and so when he saw me bring them up, he jumped on me for PIS, exposing his own PIS and then came up with that tortured explanation of how forces could equally mean two scum teams or simply refer to multiple scum players, which I did not buy. For the record I’m neither scum nor third party.

His comment that I’d become public enemy #1 if he flipped was because I’d tied the town cop for the lead.

He did his own vote switch at 1 minute before the deadline but had been waiting to post, along with several other players who were around at EoD but did not post, hence my question shortly before EoD, and the solidification of my suspicion given his naked vote and “I’m Town as well”. There was time for a claim and a reaction, maybe someone else can confirm.

Anyway, a poor result, and I take responsibility for my role in his demise.

Oog a moment of good news. I have been creatively procrastinating, i.e. avoiding, moving my MS Office stuff from old laptop with issues to new laptop (also with issues but different ones and lots more reliable, also under warranty) for, like, six months. Because I figured it would be a great big hassle, and I'd end up screwing something up, and I'd probably have to try to get some MS help person on the phone if such a person exists, and blah blah blah. But it seemed like something I should do the day before old laptop kicked it rather than the day after.

I did it! It actually was quite easy! I didn't even have to use the 24-character product key, which I had conscientiously saved and dug out of the 2013 archives.

So now I have a fully functional laptop! Well, except for InDesign and PhotoShop, I doubt that I will be able to transfer those old things, but they were hard to use on a laptop anyway. I need a BIG screen for that stuff.

A small thing but I really needed for something to work and be easy.

Well I guess vote analysis can wait for daytime, not 100% sure how we should evaluate Gnarlys last comment, it would he an honest assessment, but not necessarily a correct assessment.

Actually, if he got a town or scum result they could be trusted. A third party result could be third party, or it could be town, or it could be scum. Not that it matters now.

That's not how I understood, the PM says that gnarly would always accurately identify a 3P, it's the Town or scum results that would be dodgy.
