Which Jack Benny Show Character Do You Identify With?
Yes, I know you don't have a clue who these people are. That's the fun part.

The only one I don't immediately know is Phil Harris. Was he just a radio show guy?
In the Giraffe Boards President poll, I voted for Rochester but he's not the one I identify with in this poll. He would often say 'okay boss' and keep calm when I probably would not. |

Scary that I remember that Jack Benny's theme song was Love In Bloom.

I had to go with Jack, because he usually didn't know what was going on, and was clueless [of course, he was faking that for comedy purposes], as everyone made him look like a fool. Story of my life...

Pretty much, yes. He was the bandleader and his character was sort of an egotistical hepcat. If I understand correctly, he couldn't do the TV show because he was signed to an exclusive contract with another network.

I barely know anything about the show, so I voted for the voice of Bugs Bunny.
He was the car or something? ![]() Did he do anything else on the show? |

Ah, I remember Jack. He had two boys, David and Ricky and a wife named Lucy. Great show.

The only stuff I know about Jack Benny is from when Radar did his Jack Benny impression on MASH.

If I reveal my identity then you'll all know that I'm a secret agent deep under cover.

He was sort of the utility infielder; he did the parrot ("WAUGH! Benny's a cheapskate, Benny's a cheapskate! SQUAWK!"), Jack's tortured music teacher Professor LeBlanc, Sy ("Sy?" "Si.") and extra characters as needed.

He was the musician behind the most famous rendition of the song When You Say "I Beg Your Pardon", Then I'll Come Back to You

Jack Benny didn't make a lot of movies. The Horn Blows At Midnight became a running gag on his show as an example of his lack of success on the silver screen. But he did make one very funny movie, To Be Or Not To Be with Carole Lombard and a very young Robert Stack.

Should've tossed in Fred Allen to completely confuse people...

My wife enjoyed watching those on the old game show network and YouTube. |

Toss in Gracie Allen and Fred Astaire, if you really want to blow some {MJ-infused} minds.

Fred Allen had a long-running (fake) feud with Jack Benny is the connection.
Some of you (Any of you?) may also remember the recurring character of Senator Cleghorn on Allen's radio show who was the inspiration for Foghorn Leghorn. |

And the Senator was inspired by an actual Politician, now forgotten in the depth of time.
