Abraham Lincoln, March 4, 1861 – April 15, 1865




George Washington, April 30, 1789 – March 4, 1797

It would. I mean, it had to come down to this, huh? Not enough Jefferson-lovers out there? So now what?

Well the choice on this one, for me, is pretty easy. I think Washington was a great founding father and an admirable first President, but I think there are many others who came later and did the job better. Lincoln, well, only one in my mind even came close.

Even without those reasons, Washington wins because he turned down the offer to be king. How fucking tempting must that have been?

But that's a reason to vote against Washington! "King George" has a certain ring to it, although I can't quite put my finger on the reason.
